  1. It's so easy! All we gotta do is call running plays and we win all the games!
  2. Unless he's grown leaps and bounds as a man and a coach from his time with the Broncos, no he shouldn't have. McD was low key every bit the trainwreck with the Broncos that Lane Kiffen was with the Raiders, Broncos ownership was just smart enough not to air out the dirty laundry in full public view.
  3. They paid Brady a poo ton of money. It's not like we settled for Joe Brady. This OL is the OL Rhule and company wanted. We paid Erving and Eflein decent money despite them not being very good... or very reliably healthy. The stats that Moore has put up with the QB play he's had is borderline Herculean. If we let him walk, expect him to become a household name elsewhere.
  4. Fedora had no desire to recruit or play defense. He just expected his offense to outscore everyone anyway.
  5. Fitts and Rhule really started talking big when we started off 3-0. Unfortunately, both of Rhule's seasons started with promise before unraveling badly. This one even worse than last one. What we expected was a couple of struggle seasons while showing progress. What we've actually gotten is a couple of flailing seasons showing regression.
  6. And now he's back at his alma mater in the college game where they're throwing out $100M contracts like it's the Oprah show.
  7. Draft status seems to often follow guys around for far longer than it should. Swap Darnold's and Minshew's draft statuses and Darnold is out of the league and Minshew got traded for a decent return.
  8. I just don't think his personality and coaching style work long-term with pro athlete grown men and I think he probably realizes that himself. He's better suited for the college game with younger guys.
  9. Minshew was my A (by a significant margin), Trubisky was my B. Once the am Stafford ship sailed, those were the only two vet options that interested me.
  10. Yep. Kinda like failing to draft a QB, sign a Trubisky to a low level FA deal, or trade a late round pick for Minshew because you'd already made a deal to trade way too much for Sam Darnold and pickup his option to triple down on the two other mistakes.
  11. Nah, I don't blame Hurney. This is ALL Tepper. He's the check writer and ultimate shot caller. How he didn't have enough information available to him to immediately fire Marty Hurney is baffling to me and that's on him. If he needed a place holder to buy time while he figured out who the long-term person at GM was going to be, fine. But you tie Hurney's hands. Tightly. You don't let him influence you on who to hire as the next HC, that's for damn sure.
  12. Unless there's something behind the scenes that indicates Rhule can right this ship, he's gotta go. Based on what can be seen from the outside looking in, Rhule needs to go. Both of his seasons have started out looking promising and then quickly come off the rails.
  13. 12 INTs, 6 fumbles. Teddy last year? 11 INTs and 6 fumbles, but 9 fewer TDs.
  14. You gotta stop overstating things. No one is "lusting" after these guys. We just didn't want to spend all those resources pursuing trash. Myself and many others said this all along. Why Panthers brass thought Teddy and Darnold would prove to be something other than what they'd always proven to be I have no clue, especially when guys who have played better were available for way less.
  15. Trubisky had a 24 TD season in a Nagy led offense. He might actually be the greatest QB ever.
  16. I don't think anyone is trying to argue that they're "good". They were simply far more palatable options than the options we ultimately chose, primarily due to the reality that we would've had way loess resources invested in them.
  17. Teddy is the same pedestrian player he was with us, just on a bit better of a team. He's always going to be one of those marginal starter/good backup types. Kinda like Minshew.
  18. Not the same place though. We'd be in a better cap situation and a better draft asset situation. That's not the same place at all.
  19. Teddy and Darnold were both horrible, costly mistakes. Signing Trubisky would've gotten us a better player for way less money and zero trade compensation. Trading a 5th or 6th for Minshew would've gotten us a better player for way less money and way less trade compensation. Sometimes you have to go with the best bad option available. We e spent a lot of resources going with the worst bad option available. Twice.
  20. Better than feasting on an all you can eat buffet of flaming dog poo which is what playing Darnold is.
  21. I said all along we would've been better off trading for Minshew than trading for Darnold and trading for Darnold still shouldn't have eliminated going after Minshew too. If we were going after an afterthought vet, my choice was 1. trade for Minshew 2. sign Trubisky. Trading legit assets for Darnold should've never been on the table.
  22. I would greatly prefer not to unless there's some behind the scenes reasons to think he can right this ship. Everyone knows he'll be going into a hot seat season next year and that's going to hamper his ability t hire a good OC who has other options.
  23. Agreed. I said the same in the other thread.
