I hope Legette works out. He seems like a legit good dude and he has the best accent in the NFL. But I wasn't onboard with the pick for a reason. You just don't take older "upside" guys high in the draft. Older prospects need to be polished and upside guys need to be young. When you're older and still raw from an actual skill standpoint that's a BIG red flag. I thought he was the type of guy who probably shouldn't go earlier than the 3rd. I honestly think we probably drafted a faster version of Laviska Shenault.

It effects everything. I remember when Ronald Curry was coming into UNC as the #1 football and basketball recruit in the country. Won the McD AA slam dunk contest and was so electric on the football field that he overshadowed fellow VA tidewater area star Michael Vick. He tore his Achilles before he ever suited up at UNC. I don't recall him ever dunking a ball and while he was still a good college QB he was nowhere near what he was in HS. He was a shadow of himself. Recall Jon Beason too. Went from one of the best LBs in the league to a replacement level starter. It's brutal.

Very few are. That's a devastating injury. That's why I don't understand why everyone in football media is acting like Rodgers is definitely still going to be elite at 40 coming off an Achilles. That's FAR from a sure thing. I'd actually bet against it.

How many games are you willing to give Young?
LinvilleGorge replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he starts out looking good I'll have hope. If he's still looking good by Halloween I'll start believing. If he starts out looking like he did last year, I'm out on his ass at halftime of week one. Not gonna lie. LOL -
Another one showed up a few days ago. We have some feral cats around but they act like legit wildcats (obviously since that's where the first kitty came from). Rarely seen and won't let you get within 50 yards of them. This kitten was not feral. Immediately came up to us, rubbing on our legs, willing to be picked up, not afraid of dogs, etc. It was super skinny so we started feeding it and it has hung around. It's already starting to fill back out. Since it hung around I busted out one of the dog crates to put it in at night with all the owls and coyotes around. I don't think the poor guy has felt safe enough to get a good sleep in weeks. I opened the door this morning and he hasn't left the crate yet. Still sleeping. Gave it flea and tick treatment yesterday and gonna run over and grab some dewormer for it here in a bit.

USA TODAY record projections. Panthers not last
LinvilleGorge replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, sorry. Brianfart on my part. Yeah, an Achilles tear is a significantly worse injury than an ACL which is no walk in the park itself. -

They realize that Aaron Rodgers is 40, coming of an ACL tear, and the Jets were trash last year, right? -
I don't expect to be good. Here's the two things I'm hoping for most this year: 1. An answer on Bryce. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and improve by leaps and bounds and we know we have our guy. That would be by far the best situation. The worst situation would be if he improves just enough to leave us thinking "well... maaaaaaybe". Just give me the answer. Be the guy or be the guy who gets us the guy. 2. The team improves throughout the season under Canales. He shows he can run a disciplined team and make adjustments in game and week to week.

Yeah, FB Marketplace just completely replaced Craigslist

If it wasn't for being able to keep up with people I'd otherwise likely lose contact with I'd delete it too. I do a LOT less on it now that I've moved back to NC. When I was in CO I was a long way away from most of my family, friends I grew up with, went to college with, etc.

I do very little on it. Mainly because I hate the "better" layout. It's better for them. Their algorithm feeds you the content that keeps you engaged. But that means your social media feed ends up becoming a rabbit hole of confirmation bias and triggering content. Not good. No wonder why everyone thinks the world is so polarizing. Everyone's social media feed is.

Bryce Young can have a breakout season in 2024
LinvilleGorge replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
We'll see. Honestly, I'll be shocked but it would be a great thing. -
Literally us mods right now

For the most part, social media just replaced forums the way forums replaced bulletin boards. Forums were just bulletin boards with better layouts and more features. Social media is basically just forums with better layouts and more features. Everything evolves.

Sure we could. You can always get creative with contract structure.

You still have to acquire that next QB in the worst case scenario. That's why I'm for conserving future assets. We might need them to get that QB. If you don't have a QB you don't have a shot. Can Bryce be Brock Purdy in the perfect scenario? Maybe. But Brock Purdy will turn into a liability once the Niners have to pay him.

I'm honestly not for trading away significant assets until we're confident that we have QB solved.

Unless you need frequent use of the third row, the Tahoe/Yukon platform is infinitely better than the Suburban/Yukon XL in terms of driveability. That extra 20" makes a big different in terms of driveability. I've had three Yukon/Tahoes over the years. Love that platform. Sure wish they'd put better transmissions behind those beautiful LS engines though. They're ticking time bombs after 100k and it's really easy to build them stronger.

Bronny's NBA career will last exactly as long as the remainder of Lebron's. -

Yeah, he seems like he has the personality of a 2x4. I just don't see how it's gonna translate to the broadcasting booth. I could see him doing some type of indepth analysis stuff on YouTube that football nerds like me would eat up, but that's something entirely different.
