Wentz looks completely shot. If Reich brings him in I'll completely lose faith in this hire.

Steve Wilks is a good man and I have to admit that even though I don't think he would've been the right hire I'm disappointed for him as a person for not getting his dream job. That sucks. I wish him nothing but the absolute best moving forward.

Joe Person on possible coordinator candidates
LinvilleGorge replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. A coach like Reich seems a perfect situation for him to take the next step. Pairing Joe Brady with another NFL neophyte in Matt Rhule was a mistake. -
I don't doubt he's a good coach. But this tweet highlights my concern. At his previous stop he couldn't solve the very key issue we currently find ourselves in.

I'd be good with those. I'm a little concerned about Johnson's minimal NFL experience but the work he has done is undeniably impressive. -
Torrey Smith on Frank Reich being named HC
LinvilleGorge replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Folks, the race stuff has to stop. Too many threads are getting derailed. Take it to the TB if you want to scream at each other about racism. Unplanned vacations will be taken if this keeps up. -
If the Bears would go for Burns + #9 overall for #1, what say you? For the record, I don't think they would.

Dallas remains uncommittal with Kellen Moore
LinvilleGorge replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Sean Payton wanted the job McCarthy would be out. I'm sure Payton and Jimmy Johnson have chatted about Jerry Jones off the set at Fox. -
Get a write up in the Charlotte Observer and... the site you're perma-banned from gets a shout out.

Colts Free Agency the Panthers/Reich may want to pursue
LinvilleGorge replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
Which is why he won't be traded. -

Jerry Jones gonna Jerry Jones. McCarthy probably has to win the Super Bowl next year to be in Dallas beyond next year. -
Colts Free Agency the Panthers/Reich may want to pursue
LinvilleGorge replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, a trade for #1 overall would look more like Burns + #9 overall as a starting point of the negotiations. Thinking we'd get #1 plus more is crazy talk. -

I can't see trading Burns simply because I doubt we'd get anything near what we turned down from the Rams so Fitts would look like a complete jackass if he traded him now for significantly less. -
Any chance Wilks returns in some capacity?
LinvilleGorge replied to WarHeel's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nope. Recipe for disaster. The players love him and wanted him to be the HC. He probably feels like he should be the HC. That's an untenable situation. I wish Wilks nothing but the very best but keeping him here given the situation just isn't an option. -
Do you trust Reich to find us (and develop) a franchise QB?
LinvilleGorge replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
I trust that if that was the plan he tried to sell Tepper on then he wouldn't have been the hire. We've been trying that for years with predictable results. -
Pretty disappointing to be honest, but I'm thrilled that it's not Sean Payton. All my Panthers gear was ready for a burn pile if it was.

Rhule says he regrets throwing Cam under the bus
LinvilleGorge replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, what's to be mad about? I appreciate him clarifying this. He should've just made it a point to do this in a presser soon afterwards. But it's easy to fug up and then forget to go back and clean up the mess when you're in so far over your head that you're drowning. Rhule was out of his league and I think he knew it and he was just flailing. -

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
LinvilleGorge replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is there any news worthy knowing in this 45 pages of bickering? -
If the Bears don't put that pick on the auction block they're crazy. That roster needs a lot of help. They don't need the #1 pick. They need a lot of picks.

Why is mediocrity so attractive?
LinvilleGorge replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
We want to go back to having a chance of having a really good team. Our history isn't one of mediocrity as much as it is one of being hit or miss. But at least we had some hits. -
Matt Waldman's Breakdown of Anthony Richardson (QB, Florida)
LinvilleGorge replied to Lemory's topic in 2025 NFL Draft
Nah, just keep drafting defense. You can always get a QB next year. Been hearing this since we released Cam. -
House selling advice for closing costs
LinvilleGorge replied to cardiackat88.'s topic in Huddle Lounge
Do you not have any equity in this property? Usually the closing costs just come out of the proceeds of the sell. -
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them move on from Lance.

Earned has nothing to do with it. The Niners are in a window right now and though Purdy has played very well for a 7th round pick QB is still their weakness. They're basically running an offense similar to our post-Rhule offense with Darnold. It's schemed to hide the QB as much as possible. If they have the opportunity to upgrade they will. I'll be surprised if Purdy is their starter next year. It'll either be Lance or Rodgers. They go back to their young QB they have a ton invested in or they bring in the aging but still elite Rodgers and move Lance to recoup some of the draft capital they've spent in trades to get guys like Lance and CMC. A lot of people are allowing the results on the field to sleep their perception of Purdy. When I watch the player instead of the team, I see a backup caliber QB in an ideal situation.
