I think Joe Brady likely has a bright future in football but NFL OC was too much too soon for him.

Demo is relatively easy with the right tools. Primarily pry bars of various sizes and shapes. Flat ones are key. Get stuff started with those them you can break out the bigger ones but it's tough to get stuff started with the bigger ones. Most people just try to go to work with a sledgehammer and a crowbar and yeah, that sucks.

Right now I'm just relieved we didn't make a move for Jimmy G.

Never happened.

This team has displayed zero long-term vision for years. A team with long-term vision fired Rhule after last season. Considering it's a staff desperately trying to save their jobs, this is the best move they could make. The best QB available and a move that comes with little cap or draft asset investiture.
-
That's the understatement of the century. I watched Armanti Edwards get caught from behind on a punt return by the freaking punter.

If Rhule finds success with Mayfield, fine. We're not going to find success unless Rhule proves himself as a capable NFL coach. Winning is winning. If Rhule wins he's earned the right to hang around. Another poo show of a season and he should be unceremoniously poo canned and kicked to the curb.

Honestly I think what Baker would thrive in is a modified version of the offense we ran with Cam Newton. Now one would argue that Baker can't do that because he isn't the running threat Cam was, but that's where the "modified" comes in. Replace Cams running threat with the RPO. Instead of the read options we ran with Cam we'd run an RPO with Baker. Instead of reading the D to see if he keeps to run or hands off he's reading the D to see if he keeps to throw or hands off. The rest of the concepts cater to Baker's strengths. His strengths and weaknesses as a passer are similar to Cam's.

You don't want to put the kid in position to fail. If he's the best option, play him. If he needs time to sit and learn have options available so that you're not forced to play him too soon. This is a rarity for Panthers fans. We actually watched the Panthers make a smart, calculated move.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. You seem mad that we traded for a QB instead of starting a 3rd round rookie. Okay. Then you seem mad that we didn't repeat the same mistake we made with Darnold and overcommit unnecessarily. That's weird.
-
What are you talking about?

How?

Seattle does not love Baker Mayfield. They never seriously engaged in trade talks with Cleveland. They let us get him for a 4th/5th round pick while sticking Cleveland with the bulk of his salary. You don't "love" a guy and then fail to make that deal.

I honestly think it was basically that JR was really old and in declining health with no succession plan with the plan being for the team to be sold after his death. They really wanted Tepper in the club and jumped on the opportunity to speed up the clock a bit then they basically told everyone that unless you're willing to blow Tepper's bid completely out of the water you might as well not even bother because we're going to force this team to be sold to our guy.
-
Bingo. What Snyder has done time and time again was far worse than what JR did and yet he remains. Not sure what JR did to fall out of favor or maybe they just wanted Tepper in the club so badly that they jumped on the first opportunity to create an opening.

Maybe we actually learned something from the Darnold trade. That lesson being DON'T fuging NEGOTIATE AGAINST YOURSELF. The Jets were in the same situation with Darnold. We were the only serious suitor. Disregarding Darnold's atrociousness, we got absolutely fleeced trading what we did for a player that really didn't have any other suitors.

Training Camp Interest Post-Mayfield Trade

Definitely more. -
Baker Mayfield is well worth the risk for a 4th/5th round pick and less than $5M salary. That's a no-brainer IMO when your other options are Sam Darnold, PJ Walker, and a 3rd round rookie who played in a college offense that doesn't really translate to the NFL. That's not at all saying that Corral will be a bust, it's just not all that conducive to starting as a rookie and being successful.

It's a no win situation. If he bashed Darnold then everyone would call him a bad teammate and point out how terrible he was himself last year. And everyone would be right.
