Half this board tried to convince themselves this time last year that the Teddy signing was brilliant too. This one likely ends up turning out about the same. Darnold probably has a career year like Teddy did because honestly it wouldn't take much to qualify but it's nowhere near good enough and this time next year half the board is trying to convince themselves that the trade for Jared Goff will be the third time's a charm.

So... much like the Teddy deal, it's starting to look like we were bidding against ourselves with the other suitors dropping out and us still increasing our offer because...? Oh wee mayne.

It seemed like the relationship between Teddy and the staff took a nose dive after he blamed the play call coming in late for him missing a wide open DJ in the endzone. Actually, I think he specifically said he would've checked to a run play. That seemed to be the point of no return for Teddy in Carolina.

Hell, honestly I hope so. I very, very seriously doubt it but I hope so.

100% the brass. Darnold honestly doesn't have much pressure on him IMO. People would have to actually have high expectations for that to be the case.

I had high hopes for Rhule, but I'm starting to really doubt that this ends up working out.

Unfortunately, slot of the same people who just traded a pretty nice haul to get Sam Darnold. We're fans of a really dumb organization.

If we're lucky enough to be in that situation, then we double down on stupidity by trading out of that spot. Take the QB. This idiotic trade is now officially a sunk cost.

I agree. With Darnold at the helm we should end up in great position to land Howell or Rattler next season... if we're not dumb enough to pass on them which is absolutely not out of the question with the moves this organization is making.

It's very possible. Fast forward five years and I think any of the "big four" could end up being the best QB out of this class and hell, if Mac Jones ends up in Shanny's system as much as I don't care for him as a prospect, I don't completely rule out him being the best either.

Just my opinion, but honestly Fields would be the slam dunk #1 QB in most other draft classes. This is just the best QB draft class in a loooooong time.

The 4th QB picked wouldn't necessarily be the 4th QB on our draft board and the 4th QB picked in this draft class very well could be the 1st or 2nd QB drafted in a lot of other draft classes.

Its lying season. It's not unheard of for teams to try to smear prospects they like leading up to the draft in a desperate effort to get them to fall.

I can't believe it hasn't hit harder and sooner to be honest. You can't just keep dumping trillions of additional money into the economy with no impact.

Yeah, he isn't. One lightning in a bottle play doesn't make an athlete. The odds of Darnold pulling off that run was next to zero. The odds of him replicating it again probably are zero. We get it, man. You're happy with a JAG QB and don't want to take a chance on getting better.

Not gonna happen. Athletically, I think he's pretty much a slightly bigger Deshaun Watson. Josh Allen would be a decent athletic comp too IMO. Definitely a plus athlete at the QB position, but anyone expecting Cam or Vick or Lamar Jackson or Kyler Murray is gonna be sorely disappointed.

It has been weird to me how so many are criticizing Fields for not being able to go past his first read when that's all I saw from Mac Jones. In the games I watched, seems like he never made it past his first read 90% of the time. Then again, when your 1st read is often the Heisman winning WR, well...
