  1. Elite offense vs. elite defense. In today's era, the smart bet is usually on offense. I just think ND is REALLY overrated. We'll see with USC. They have a tough schedule to finish out the season.
  2. I think he's a one year rental. There was talk that if he didn't get cleared this year that he might just enter next years draft anyway versus sitting out a year and playing next year.
  3. That's NIL. Not sure what they'll do but I don't think the current free for all will continue. They might ultimately reinstitute the sit out a year rule. I've always thought the schools should have to commit to a four year scholarship to these kids as long as they remain academically eligible.
  4. Ultimately I think they're going to do something to rein in the musical chairs.
  5. #2 WR, #6 overall. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/college-football-transfer-portal-2023-top-15-wide-receivers-in-final-top247-rankings-211596035/ He had 7 catches for 106 yards and a TD against Georgia and you KNOW they were keying on him. The rest of the roster combined for about 80 receiving yards. Only one other WR caught a pass.
  6. I think there were some hiccups with the new OC. Tez Walker is gonna help a lot too. The offense was sorely missing a true field stretcher deep threat.
  7. Other than the App State game it finally looks like we have that pairing of an elite offense and a respectable defense. We've always paired elite offenses with trash tier defense. We've had elite defenses paired with respectable offenses in the past but never the reverse. At least not during my lifetime.
  8. I've watched UNC football for long enough to realize that we can beat anyone on any given Saturday and we can lose to anyone on any given Saturday. Keeps things exciting I guess.
  9. You don't hire Smitty if this isn't what you're wanting. They gotta do something to get eyes on Thursday Night Football because the games consistently suck. They were probably licking their chops to get Mahomes against a D that had already surrendered a 70 burger this year and they got 27 points. Total. Combined. Thursday Night Football just sucks.
  10. I honestly think Deion's plan is probably for Shedeur to come back, they're legit top 25, go to a decent bowl and he bounces. I don't see him at Colorado long at all. It's not a good fit.
  11. It's no slam dunk Shedeur is back. When Deion was talking about how he'd definitely be back Shedeur definitely cut a "you fugin' crazy" side eye at him. He might be getting tired of constantly being in dad's shadow. Over time I think a lot of kids are going to get tired of being overshadowed by him. They want some of that spotlight too and Deion hogs it all.
  12. Take it up with whoever banned you. I doubt it was me.
  13. Not me. I'd love to be wrong about Bryce.
  14. They'll put a number beside Colorado's name again after a win over 1-4 Stanford but after that game they're probably going 1-4, maybe 2-3 to down the stretch. I still think they go about .500 over the course of the season.
  15. Tulane vs. Memphis actually looks like a sneaky good game tonight. Two 4-1 squads. Tulane's only loss is to 5-1 #13 Ole Miss and Memphis's only loss is to 5-1 Missouri.
  16. Sadly enough, our big money starting RB being out probably gives us a bit of a bump in odds because our afterthought of a backup RB has been the better player.
  17. Not even gonna lie. He's so off my radar as a bust of a signing that when I saw the thread title I was like
  18. I could honestly just see them doing Statesville, Hickory, Morganton, and Marion. Hickory at minimum seems an absolute definite.
  19. That's why he was drafted though. Everything we heard was how Bryce was a super processor and was way ahead of expectations and was running offensive meetings and teaching the line about protections, etc. Then preseason got here and we looked terrible. Everyone laughed and said, "LOL! It's preseason. It doesn't matter. We're not game planning and it'll look a lot different in the regular season." Well, it looks the same and now we're having to dial things back. I hope that will fix some of the issues and help with Bryce's development but we also have to admit that we are essentially admitting that the big advantage we thought Bryce had over the significantly more physically talented prospects in this draft isn't exactly panning out early on so we're having to adapt our offense to that.
  20. To be fair, CJ Stroud has a elite physical tools. Bryce doesn't. We drafted Bryce because we thought he was capable of doing a lot more mentally before the snap with adjustments and after the snap with processing that CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson were. Early on it isn't looking like a smart bet.
  21. That would be pretty sweet. I'd assume probably stops in Statesville, Hickory, Morganton, Marion, and Black Mountain along the way. Maybe Old Fort and Conover too depending on how many they wanted.
  22. A lot of folks try to paint Jake as a garbage QB through revisionism. It's not like Wilson was missing all these opportunities where Jeudy was getting wide open. Jeudy was a non-factor because he didn't do anything. His one impactful catch was schemed up by putting him at RB to get one on one with a LB.
  23. Probably so. But 3 catches for 14 yards after getting in a spot with an announcer and being publicly called out on national TV by that announcer for being a JAG highlights the difference between Smitty and Jeudy. Smitty would've gone full blood and guts on the Chiefs after that.
