It not like any of us can do anything about it anyway.

Well Tepper is going to stroke that one for you on Friday. Let's see if he can get it up. -
Graziano: Fangio leading DC Candidate in Carolina for Young HC
Jon Snow replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
All of that may be true and probably is. I just think that if this DC was mentioned during the interviews by several candidates that you "knew" you were going to hire between, I think it would behoove you to at least interview that coordinator before someone else beats you to it. The coach would already have his DC on staff and ready to go. But that's just my thinking. Hell, they could just be throwing $hit at the wall for all we know. -
Please, just say no to Ken Dorsey.

What would stop them from hiring a future coaching candidates chosen coordinators? If you want that coordinator you hire them. Especially if you have a candidate or candidates that dropped that coordinator as their DC if hired. If you know this ahead of time why let the competition sign those coordinators? It's a chess game and you have to be thinking several moves ahead. -
Wilks did enough to get a serious interview. That is all anyone wanted. Beyond that I will not say that he deserves the job outright. He will be weighed and measured against everyone else that seriously wants the position. It's ultimately Dave Teppers call and despite want any of us would like to see happen he alone will decide Wilks future here.

If you want to give Payton an add incentive to coach your team wouldn't hiring his preferred DC before anyone else could be a good one? -

I think we have a pretty good idea by now what Tepper is all about. This would be consistent with everything he has attempted so far. Will probably end about the same, an unmitigated disaster. -
Baby steps boys. There is a lot of things that have to go right to build a winner. There is no magic pill or process that will solely make it all better. There is not a single player or coach that can do it all by themselves. It takes getting a multitude of things to fall into place to get over the hump. The only commonality is time. But you certainly can sell out to go all in for one shot at a title. That approach has mixed results but it's an approach a lot of teams seem to favor.

I would imagine it puts his future here in question at least. -
I didn't think so at first but now I'm not so sure. It appears that it will be if Payton wants it. I'm so confused.

Well put yourself in some of these guys shoes and look at the situation they are walking into. I can't say as I can fault them for waiting another season to see how things shake out elsewhere. There's more to consider than just the players they inherit.

From the looks of things Fitterer is making the calls on staffing, for now. I guess we will have to wait on Peyton to announce his decision before we know the fate of our current front office.

So I guess that HC list needs updated.

Well that ended unexpectedly.
