  1. I would love to know how many trades are set up in advance, conditionally.
  2. It depends on needs and depth at a need position, but as a general rule, you are probably right. For example, he has not been mentioned in the top 10, but if the Raiders take Jeanty and a team like Dallas or da bears wants a top RB, moving up for Hampton would be wild, but it could happen. Dallas knows the Bears just had Hampton in for a visit and they want a RB....Jones might pull the trigger. All trades are unlikely, but the point is there are so many variables and teams that think one or two pieces is all they need to become immortal!!
  3. I d be happy moving back into the 20s. The Rams are known to spend draft capital freely, and they are looking at their final year (prolly) w stafford, so I could see it worth it to move back to 26. I still say that Membou, Warren, or Jeanty could be the reason teams move up--and $$$$$$$$anders.
  4. Great metaphor. I would be in the room, I would be watching the process and evaluating my staff and personnel. I might even have them explain their thinking to me, but I would do so in a way that did not make them think I was evaluating them or questioning their decisions--if that is even possible. As a college educator teaching a principal leadership program, I was constantly aware of the irony of expecting my students to follow my directions, dictate information I was telling them, and then completing my assignments. I implemented a lot of group work during my seminars, and I noticed that when I joined the group, they all made comments looking at me, as if seeking my approval. I wondered if it distorted the message they were really sending, converting it to something they felt that I wanted to hear. If I said nothing, they examined my face for clues or silent affirmation. Even though I gave them the green light to say whatever, I was the alpha, not the person speaking. It changed the dynamic. So I had them meet online in Zoom groups. I did not attend, but I had them record the session and include the link. I could tell there was a difference. They were more empowered, confident, and creative. Those were the future leaders I wanted to see. So If Tepper is going to participate, he needs to do so in a manner that does not have his employees second guessing or looking at his face for approval. He needs to realize that his leaders work best when they rely on their expertise and intuition instead of guessing what Tepper's might be. This is not Tepper's fault; it is human nature. Watch wolves or geese or any hierarchical power structure--if the leader is NOT making the decision, he or she is influencing it. So Tepper needs to be aware. With Fitterer, I got the impression that he was Tepper's puppet--always seeking a pat on the head. He was our worst GM ever. So yes, be part of it, but understand your role and do all that you can to empower the subordinates to act in ways they see fit instead of speculating what the Alpha might want. Does that make sense? It is a gray area that most might not think about.
  5. Which suggests, perhaps, that the guilt was tearing him up. I don't know, but I have heard that people do not want to face the families of the victim and it can push them to this point. Again, can't speak for him, but I know how I might feel.
  6. I am hoping he will be there in the second. If so, I see us taking him.
  7. It is hard to see that much of a demand for him, but if one person buys into the hype, they could
  8. so what are you saying--they give us #21, Watt, and 2026's second? On the surface, I do not see them doing it, but if the bridge has been burned in Pittsburgh, it would solve a personnel issue and a cap issue. How would we handle the salary, surely to be in the $40m range? We could cut Clowney and maybe Wonnum and save about $14m. But on the surface, I would do it.
  9. Not effectively. His points were illogical, he lied about his purpose and my intent, --he accused me of trolling while trolling me, which indicates that he does not know what that term means. He assumed that I was attacking a player (we do that here all the time) by applying a lack of comprehension and bias to my use of an acronym that he did not understand. Most of his attacks were feeble attempts to save face because I exposed his hypocrisy and lack of knowledge. Nobody likes it when that happens, but to keep doubling down is painful to watch.
  10. That "trolling nickname" is the one Sanders created for himself. Using a $ to represent a public figure in a discussion board is not trolling. What our moderator did here was a clear example of trolling. I am just going to block/ignore him because this is a recurrence. He had one job!
  11. I think it is kind of a sweet spot for us--unless one of the big 3 drop to us. I would love Walker at 21, Mike Green (minus the character concerns) would be ideal. I don't even know why people do not like Pearce--but they seem to have red flagged him.
  12. I do not want to make assumptions, but I hate to see a few bad decisions made by a youth in a moment of panic (I assume) end two lives. I do not know details, but I used to teach people his age. I used to be his age.
  13. That is a good point. Dart, on some boards according to a few experts on NFL network is the #2. I do not see it--I do not see Milroe as the #4. Frankly, and I think most people are doing it, if I had a qb need in 2025 I would patch the position as best I could with a vet and draft OL, TE, or WR.
  14. And now we get to the trolling confession: if that is what you are trying to prove, how is that not a personal criticism? You insisted it was not. Was your communication accurate? Just stop it--
  15. The opinion should be the focus, not the method of delivery. I don't care what you think is obvious or that I repeated an acronym too much for you--don't care. Do not know what you are trying to prove, only that what you are proving is far from it.
  16. Enough with the personal criticisms. I don't care, frankly, and if I wanted writing advice from someone, I am pretty sure you would not be contacted. What you seem to not understand is that early I stated that I would refer to Shedeur as $$--to avoid confusion with his dad and to shorten it. It is common when you use an acronym, because the acronym represents something that is going to be repeated.
  17. That is the point. Every day, something new is happening that could impact our trade value. The Sanders situation could impact what we do, and it gets crazier every day.
  18. Suicide was my first thought. They said he was a top 50 player in the draft at one point.
  19. he was facing charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run.
  20. Read the introduction again. Not since the Carr news and Riddick comments. You have the option of not clicking or commenting.
  21. A lot of this is new information that is recycled old information added to some inferences based on tweets and a reaction to tweets that involve the #2, #3, and #9 picks. Since there are not many new topics on this board, I thought I would start a thread that considers all reasonable possibilities. I think this is a pre-draft soap opera that is worthy of popcorn. 1. First, it began before the college season had ended, when Prime announced that Shedeur Sanders ($$ from now on) should not be drafted by some organizations, basically throwing an Eli/Archie Manning threat out to the world. Then after free agency, he changed his tune, probably when he realized Cam Ward was going #1 and the Browns and Giants liked the two best players in the draft--Carter and Hunter. The Raiders signed Geno, the Jets signed Fields, the Saints re-signed Carr to silly money, and suddenly, the only team without a QB was Pittsburgh--and we all know that is where Rodgers is going to end up unless he decides to spelunk his way into retirement. The Rams are another team that might want Sanders, but they do not pick until the end of the draft. So it seems that the Saints is the only real opportunity to start if you ignore Cleveland (just signed Flacco) and the Giants (who have Russell and Winston now). It is almost like a game of musical chairs, and it seems telling the Browns to FO may have been a mistake. 2. $$ has a mediocre pro day. Some were not impacted; some were underwhelmed. Meanwhile, analysts are moving $$ down their boards, out of the top five, then some moved $$ out of the top 10. It started to look as though Pittsburgh would take him at #21, and possibly the Rams at #26. 3. Then a miracle happened, sorta. Derek Carr announced that he is considering shoulder surgery that would/could impact the 2025 season rather profoundly. Louis Riddick, a close friend of the Sanders family, tweeted the news that the #9 pick just got interesting. Prime responded with an eyeballs emoji. 4. Meanwhile, Prime seems to be in "shut up" mode about it, fearing that his involvement is probably not helping--and it was not. That same close friend, Louis Riddick, said the following on ESPN two days prior to the Carr news breaking. It is safe to assume that he is speaking on behalf of Prime. Note that the screen indicates that Kiper was already projecting $$ to the Saints: 5. It is also noteworthy that the Raiders also brought in $$ for a visit, along with Graham and a few others. However, I think Jeanty is already in silver and black---just due diligence. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is sitting there waiting for flower-child Rodgers to emerge from his cave of tranquility to let them know what his spirit animal has told him about playing football in 2025. 6. And then there is the minor (probably) issue of Milroe being invited to the Green Room. NFL Network reports that they have actually decreased the number of invites because players sitting in the Green Room is a negative distraction to what they promote as a celebratory event. So the fact that he got an invitation suggests that there is some first round interest in him because they ask GMs who they should invite (confidentially, of course). 7. Prime seems to be using this opportunity to keep his Colorado Buffalo program in the spotlight--and it is smart, especially with today's transfer portal. Has this hurt $$? 8. After showing no interest in Sanders at the combine (did not meet with him), the Steelers suddenly bring him in for a visit. The city of Pittsburgh becomes electric. (This, of course, before the Carr news broke). Tired of waiting on Moondust Rodgers and frustrated with the Watt situation, Pittsburgh is not forgetting about the Jaxxon Dart rumors and focusing on Sanders. In fact, one local writer in the Steel City predicted a blockbuster trade, now that Omar Kahn is the new GM: 9. While some podcast crack and crystal meth users in New Orleans are suggesting that the Saints' solution to this issue is to sign Rodgers (referencing their WRs and suggesting that they draft an OL) on a one-year deal, giving Carr a chance to recover and waiting for the 2026 NFL draft. Good plan, except your cap situation is rivaled only by the National Debt. 10. And let's not forget the Rams. I am sure they would like to bring in their QB of the future for a year to play behind Stafford--and for him at times--so they too are in play. However, I wonder if they are the team that wants to see if they can develop Milroe. It just sounds Ramsy. COMMENTARY: I do not think the Steelers are going to trade the top edge rusher in football and a first and second so they can move from 21 to 5 to overdraft an above average QB. I think they are more likely, however, to trade with the Panthers, sitting right before New Orleans. New Orleans, on the other hand, could trade up if they think the Steelers or Rams might try to trade with Carolina. If Sanders gets past the Jets, I imagine the phones will be active. On the other hand, $$ is a lot of hype. Maybe they know what we do not--that his value is at the end of the round. On the other hand, the Panthers are in a very good spot if Sanders falls to #8.
  22. Good point--they are. However, I need to check--I know this is the case in Dallas--but is the owner usually the first person to speak to the player after he is drafted? I thought it was the GM--then the coach--then the coordinator--then the position coach---but I am not sure there is a norm. I really do not know.
  23. I also should have listed the Burns trade--but Morgan was starting in the hole following the Young trade up, losing Moore and draft picks. He seems to have a plan, and i am not going to blame him for the XL/Brooks picks because I think XL will come around (we knew he was raw) and Brooks was to give Young an extra horse. I like Sanders--so he really tried to boost the offense--and even though it did not work out like he hoped, the good outweighed the bad.
