I'd take on part of his salary for a couple prospects and bring up Drury. And just like that Raanta gaks another.
-
He's costing this team $5.4M thru next season.
-
That means there are 20 other teams who are in play...

-
Mad Max with another!
-
I'm all for putting Turbo on the market.
-
2 games in a row Pesce & Skjei team up for one!
-
How the fug do the refs both miss that call and not look at it? How does Toronto not call that one off?
-
Canes don't get one back this period, their done. -7 goal differential in the 3rd period this year.
-
Raanta and his usual weak goal allowed.
-
And Svech with another penalty just a minute or 2 after his last. 2-0 .
-
Canes are gonna screw around and lose their 3rd in a row.
-
Tripp: "This PP unit is out of sync." Putting it mildly. The PP needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. It's atrocious.
-
Yep. Net-front Noesen. His nickname should be "Nets."
-
Last Time Out: The Canes produced a franchise record 67 shots on Thursday night, but Predators netminder Juuse Saros put together one of the best performances in NHL history as he guided his team to victory. Max Pacioretty made his team debut in the affair, skating 16:06 in his first game since suffering an Achilles tendon tear in August. Pyotr Kochetkov suffered the loss in net, allowing four goals on 24 shots. No Morning Skate: Due to the afternoon start time the Canes will not hold a morning skate today. Any lineup information would come from Rod Brind'Amour when he meets with the media shortly after 1 p.m. Noesen Doubtful: After leaving Tuesday's game in New York with a lower-body injury, Stefan Noesen is doubtful to play this afternoon. Rod Brind'Amour shared the update Friday following practice. More information on all of the team's injuries can be found below. Svech, The All-Star: The NHL announced its All-Stars on Thursday night, naming Canes forward Andrei Svechnikov as the team's representative. With 19 goals already this season, it will be the first time at the event for the 22-year-old. Stay Hot Marty Necas: Martin Necas, who set a new career-high with his 17th goal of the season on Tuesday, moved his point streak to seven games on Thursday. Now with 38 points in 39 games, he also has 13 points in 15 career regular season games against the Blue Jackets. Burns Is Buzzin': Since December 1 Brent Burns leads the Canes with 14 points in 16 games. His 28 points pace all team defenders through 39 games. Father Finn The Star: The NHL revealed its Stars of the Week Monday afternoon, naming Antti Raanta one of them. The netminder went 3-0-0 with a 1.30 goals against average and a .944 save percentage last week. The 33-year-old veteran has now won his last seven decisions, dating back to November 25, and has improved to 10-2-2 on the season. Kochetkov's Great December: Antti Raanta's honors on Monday came fewer than 24 hours after his current goaltending partner, Pyotr Kochetkov, was named the league's Rookie of the Month for the month of December. The 23-year-old went 7-0-1 in December with a 1.63 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. On The Other Side: A season riddled with injuries for the Blue Jackets has left them at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division standings thus far. Patrik Laine, Zach Werenski, Jakub Voracek, Jake Bean, Adam Boqvist, and several others have all missed time thus far this year, currently giving them the third-fewest goals for and third-most goals against in the NHL. Their power play also ranks 31st out of all 32 teams. They are 1-9-0 in their last 10 games. CANES INJURY UPDATES Forward Ondrej Kase has been in concussion protocol since October 13. He has recently taken part in team practices and morning skates since December 16 in a no-contact jersey, but there is no current timetable for his return. Goaltender Frederik Andersen suffered a lower-body injury on November 6. He has been practicing with the team since December 8, but there is currently no timetable for his return. Rod Brind'Amour has said on several occasions, "We're waiting for him to say that he feels 100%. He won't play until then." Forward Stefan Noesen left Tuesday night's game in New York with a lower-body injury. He tried to return for the second period but was not able to continue. Rod Brind'Amour said on both Wednesday and Thursday that there's no concern that it is a long-term injury. ____________________________________________________________ Let's get RBA his 200th head-coaching victory today. Upcoming schedule: I'll be at the NJ game this coming Tuesday and the Wild matchup on the 19th. I back-loaded my season ticket schedule so we could see more games in the second half of the season.

I think Max will move up to another line once he gets his game skates under him. His ice time last night was a hair over 16 minutes and I think he was surprised how gassed he was. It's going to take a few games for him to get back into game shape. -
I was thinking Derek Carr to Carolina. Daniel Jones is going to get paid in NY.

They've had the opportunities to acquire that player and have not pulled the trigger. It can not be Burns nor could it have been Hamilton or DeAngelo when they were here, because of their PP and offensive skill set. That being said, I think we've had guys get hurt because there's no threat of retribution. What Ekholm did to Necas last night was borderline penalty when he didn't let him back on the ice after he was knocked into the bench. Our top line guys were getting knocked down on the ice all night, and this from a team with a pretty weak blue line. The Preds had no business being in that game last night, but the Canes let them dictate the play and the physicality. -

Aho is not where he needs to be. KK is not holding up his end of a big contract. Jarvis has been absent for several games. Kochetkov may have heard all of the hype. Raanta is Mr. Softy and Anderson is on vacation. This team can be special, but all the pieces need to be working together. -

Yeah 2 goals on 9 shots. He looks nowhere as confident as he was before he sat. -

Eckholm is a thug. Send Burns after him. Good to see Max chirp him. -

Another Carolina penalty. Nashville will likely score again on the PP. I have little confidence in the PK this season, unlike last season.
