  1. 7-17 record as a head coach. Any other corporate manager would be out of work with a 40% rate of success. Only in the world of sports do a lot of unsuccessful managers keep getting hired by someone who thinks anything will change.
  2. Now we get to listen to Romo and Nance again living out their Sunday fantasy of jerking off Tom Brady. They don't even try to hide it. "Tommy is the best. C'mon, let me hear you say it! Oh, God! I'm coming......!"
  3. Can you imagine if there was a transfer portal for NFL players? Or, they could opt to sit out games?
  4. If you think Tepper cares about winning or losing, you are mistaken. He makes money off this team regardless. If he cared about winning or losing, we would not have guys like Darnold, Mayfield, Burns, Wilks, McAdoo, Fitterer in the organization.
  5. I'm very concerned about those of you who actually believe any of the bullsh!t this organization has been feeding you.
  6. Heinz Field South. Tepper just announced new naming rights deal.
  7. One need look no further than the "crowd" in attendance to know the Carolina Panthers are an Irrelevant franchise, being run no better than it was under JR, and the fans who continue to support this effort deserve to be grifted of every penny they spend being a fan.
  8. Divisions allow for scheduling ease, for both regular and post season. And to suggest seeding isn't the answer, the NCAA seems to have found the answer for March Madness. Don't see losing teams in the tournament. And, should your team ever finish a season as a 12-5 wildcard and have to go on the road to play a 7-10 "division champ," then come talk to me.
  9. Then there's this: The Bahamas Bowl (Miami- Ohio v. UAB): attendance- 12,172 The Cure Bowl (UTSA v. Troy): attendance- 11,911 The Las Vegas Bowl (Florida v. Oregon St): attendance- 29,750
  10. Taking into account the number of players who decide they'll sit out a bowl game, the transfer portal and other players being ineligible because they declared for the draft ahead of the bowl game, it's only a matter of time before some school has to forfeit a bowl game because they can't field a team.
  11. And Mike Tomlin might be one of the most overrated coaches in NFL history.
  12. Points In 10 In A Row: Carolina's win last night moves their point streak to 10 games, the eighth streak of 10 games or more in franchise history. It's the third streak of 10 games or more within the last five years. The longest, 13 games, came in 2021. Four Straight Wins: With a win over Dallas, the Canes now have four in a row dating back to last Saturday on Long Island. The team has allowed a total of just six goals during the run, with four of them coming last night. 500 For Waddell: Saturday's victory was also the 500th as a General Manager for Don Waddell, becoming just the fourth GM to reach the milestone in franchise history. Since May of 2018 he's guided the organization to a record 192-92-34. Firsts For Turbo & Chatty: Forward Teuvo Teravainen earned his first goal of the season in Saturday's victory, coming during a five-on-three power play. Defenseman Jalen Chatfield picked up his first point of the season with an assist on Andrei Svechnikov's 17th goal of the year. In Net: After Antti Raanta started and won last night for Carolina, it is expected that Rod Brind'Amour and staff will turn to Pyotr Kochetkov this afternoon. The rookie is 8-1-4 and brought himself into Calder Trophy discussion thanks to having a share of the league lead in shutouts (3) and a top-ten position in save percentage (.923). Aho, Andersen Ruled Out: Friday afternoon Rod Brind'Amour also confirmed that neither Sebastian Aho nor Frederik Andersen will play this weekend. Both are dealing with lower-body injuries. More info on all of the team's injuries can be found below. Stastny's Big Role: With Aho out of the lineup, veteran Paul Stastny has stepped into his top line role. Centering Martin Necas and now Andrei Svechnikov, Stastny scored his first goal of the season last Saturday and then followed that with a season-high in minutes played in both of the next two contests. Road Warriors: Although they will only play one road game the rest of the year (12/22 @ PIT), the Canes win in Detroit on Tuesday gives them at least one point in their last 10 road games. They are 6-0-4 dating back to November 14, now the second-longest streak in franchise history. The current run only trails the streak of points in 12 consecutive road games from 2004. On The Other Side: Pittsburgh comes to town having won seven games in a row, each one since coming out on the wrong end of an overtime score against the Canes. They've allowed just 17 goals in six games, with goaltender Tristan Jarry recently being named an NHL Star of the Week for his performances. The unit also now has defenseman Kris Letang back in the mix after he missed a week due a stroke that he suffered. Sidney Crosby remains pacing the unit with 40 points in 30 games. Their penalty kill also ranks fourth in the league. CANES INJURY UPDATES Forward Sebastian Aho has missed the team's three most recent games due to a lower-body injury. Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour said last week that it's an injury that has been bothering him for a bit and that it's more important for him to get healthy than play through something he doesn't have to. Friday he was ruled out for both games this weekend. Forward Ondrej Kase has been in concussion protocol since October 13. He took part in Friday's practice at PNC Arena, but there is no current timetable for his return. Goaltender Frederik Andersen suffered a lower-body injury on November 6. He has been practicing with the team as of late, but Rod Brind'Amour said on Friday that he is not close enough to dress this weekend. Forward Max Pacioretty suffered a torn Achilles tendon in August. He has been skating for over a month now and took part in his first team practice Friday. Don Waddell said earlier this season that he hopes to have Pacioretty available at some point in either January or February.
  13. Wife and I simultaneously: "What are you guys doing?!?"
  14. Honestly, this is a 4-2 regulation win with Kochetkov in net. Raanta gave up 2 softies tonite. I know he's usually good for 1 per game, but since he's been off the ice for a while, 2 was better tonite. He let the tying goal in and I probably cursed loud enough that it was heard on the telecast.
  15. If this is Carolina at home, the only people in the stadium at this point are Colts fans. Yet this place is packed with crazed Vikings fans. And shame on those of you who had no confidence in Matt Ryan to blow this lead.
  16. The Vikes have a legit shot at coming from a 30-0 halftime deficit to win this game.
  17. Yet to be bowl eligible, you need to be above .500. Not something you can say about the NFL playoff system.
  18. I was gonna say.... it's not as though Ryan put the Colts in the lead: blocked punt-TD; pick-6; 5 FGs. 1 offensive TD for the Colts. And Matt Ryan is pure garbage.
  19. I'd prefer the league change the rules to read that a minimum .500 season is required to make the playoffs. But, with a 17-game season, let's make it a 9-8 record. The idea a 7-10 team can win a division and host a 13-4 wildcard team is simply ludicrous.... and embarrassing. If a situation arises that a team or teams would be below .500, regardless of their standing, they should be seeded and required to play on the road against the teams with a better record.
  20. Sure, it was the refs who blocked a punt for a TD, fumbled the ball just outside the red zone, failed on 2 4th down attempts and threw a pick-6. Okay. That being said, thankfully the Colts D and special teams are doing the job, because Matt Ryan is pure garbage.
  21. KK was bento over at the waist and the Kraken player had his stick across KK's back. When KK tried to straighten/stand up, it flipped the stick into the guy's face. That's not on KK.
  22. If anyone ever finds an explanation for the Christmas gifted PP the Kraken got last night, and why KK spent 2 minutes in the box for no reason, please post it here. That was nothing but horrible officiating at all levels- on the ice, replay and Toronto all got it wrong. Even after they supposedly got together and got it right.
  23. I'll be at Saturday's game against Dallas. And Trans Siberian Orchestra tonite in PNC as well.
  24. 28 games into the season, 19 on the road. 64 days into the season, 50 of those on the road.
