Finally! Draft day is here. (NFL Draft Round 1 Live thread)
Cpt slay a ho replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah but again is any of this urgent this season ? Could this not have been addressed in FA’s or the Draft next year ? at what point are we expected to see the fruits of all the investments in the o line ? these are questions I’ll revisit if the offense is still bottom half next year. Just feels like a lot of meat left on the bone with that pick -

Yeah but paying the going wage for Bryce to game manage and having a dominant o line will only last until it’s time to pay Young, which is next season. -

Most of those problems can be handled the following offseason though, whether through the draft or free agency. Time will tell but it feels like bigger upgrades may have been available at 19 -

Eh I’ll trust the front office but this is a lot invested in the o line that’s already heavily invested in. -

Lemon, j rod or thienenemen would be my guess -

Kinda leaning towards dt in the first, I like everything I hear about McDonald, would make a lot of jobs easier on defense. -
Explicating the Panthers' Defensiveness
Cpt slay a ho replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Kayden should be in play, lb too, but this team and franchise has been long overdue for a true fs. Being able to grab two of the 3 in the first two rounds would be huge for the defense -
SOURCE: Panthers #1 target is KC Conception
Cpt slay a ho replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not mad about kc but he doesn’t do anything specifically to put himself ahead of the others in his class like cooper jr and lemon, let alone a shot at the 1 rated dt or other positions. -
It is time to Consider the Likelihood of WR at #19

You take lemon in that case with zero shame, major fit, and a dawg like Morgan has wanted. Him and T-Mac sheesh -

This list of very close to what I have, well done. McNeil is growing on me, I was just unsure his fit at fs, seems more as ss, curious how’d he hold up against te in coverage, I see the talent. McDonald is a sleeper for me, could be our version of vita I’m a fan of cooper, I think this deep draft at wr too, I know it’s blasphemous but j rod reminds me a little of Luke, and paired with Lloyd we maybe be looking at Luke/td reincarnated. O linemen of any kind, although not the “sexy” pick I understand is essential. I’m all for adding guys from the 2nd round on for the o line but I’m not sold online is the pick either because of similar reasons you’ve stated. Proctor would be hard to pass due to the measurements. strukes seems to be moving up, I’m worried haulcy may have scheme fit issues, read he played mostly cover 1 coverage and may struggle with our cover 3 scheme but the talent is there to be a very good coverage s -

I would not be mad, I could see maybe targeting a guy like branch or bell in the second to also fill that role. I still wouldn’t sleep on the taller guys either, I think some maybe better overall then the shifter guys -
We gave up the middle of the field like no one’s business last year. Lloyd will help limit that but thieneman could help eliminate at lot of down field and big chunk over the middle plays we’ve given up. This is the first draft in a loonnnnnggggggg time I’ve felt this excited about who we’re getting in the first.

I see the vision, but if that’s the case, I don’t think you go wr in round 1 unless lemon falls maybe cooper. -

Doubt lemon is there but Boston is very very intriguing. I would not be mad if he’s the pick at 19, reminds me of a blend of Kennan Allen and Colston. His hands are very Larry fitz esc -
Emanuel McNeil Warren + Jacob Rodriguez
Cpt slay a ho replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fs is where I think we could make a big jump in talent depending on how the bored falls. not thrilled with the cb or lb depth, especially given Jaycee’s health issues. We need another guy to compliment db in the middle. -

Nice combo, wouldn’t be mad but I’m hoping we go a combo of db/dt or dt/lb -

I was thinking more so if one of the top 3 wr fell to us I can see it being the pick. Anything offense related wouldn’t surprise me. If Bryce flops at least the next qb comes into a loaded offense and our window reopens if we land a qb. -
Draft intel from ESPN’s Jordan Reid
Cpt slay a ho replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m kinda not opposed to it, only because the defense, even given evero’s problem in situational play calling, has been able to perform over expectations. but on the flip side, the offense has had the most investments but has fail to scrape top 15. We’re closer to a top 10 defensive team than a top 10 offense. Especially in our division, I just feel a top defense will get us closer to consistent contention. We can’t pay Bryce and pay all the offensive pieces needed for him to perform at his assume cap hit once he’s eating up a 3rd of the cap. -

What to Consider when you Draft in Round 1
Cpt slay a ho replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s not exactly true, good defense teams almost always have a pro bowl level fs, that usually can match up against TE’s and in the slot. A Kyle Hamilton, Brian Branch or Xavier McKinney type could transform this defense, especially in a division with shough, baker and Tua/penix -

Fs, time for the panthers to get modernized in the nfl. matter of fact anything defense related I’m all for. Been beating the drum about how close the defense is to elite, so a dt, a fs, wlb, cb are all green lights for me. Fs is long over due for an investment
