Taking a RB before the 4th round is a waste of a pick. Ignoring the hole at Center when they could have drafted one of the top ones in the draft was something that should have gotten them fired.

Says people should bag on the Panthers just because they were the worst team in the NFL last season. Says he knows people think he is too down on the team a lot of the time.

The complete lack of an actual 1st or 2nd string center is going to bite them in the backside early and often. Depending on a guy that's never played center other than some practice snaps and maybe a few series in preseason games is just asking for trouble. There's a reason no other coach has played Corbett at center during a game in college or the NFL and that's because he's not good enough despite being "too smart" to play guard or tackle.

The overwhelming majority of this board were swearing up and down the Texans wanted Young leading up to that draft because that's what all the reports and rumors said. Only a few of us said the Texans could be blowing smoke too and were shouted down. Did the Texans play the Panthers and the other QB needy teams that were looking to move up? Maybe. Were the Texans just happy to take either top QB? Maybe. But none of that matters now since it's in the past and each team has a QB they at least claim they wanted.

Looks like he could still play if he wanted to. Morgan might want to have TD's number on speed dial.

That's the college and HS influence on the NFL. You don't see those traditional under center offenses that much at those levels anymore. So, the NFL has had to adjust since the QBs don't do it as much anymore. Then add in the retiring of the older coaches and them being replaced by younger guys that are more used to the gun and spread stuff.

For those saying the guard play wasn't bad last year, just look at how the Panthers dropped 100 million on two new guards in free agency. You don't do that if you have even average guard play. The team knows what was there was bad. So, they went out and got an upgrade, and hopefully a massive upgrade at that. Sadly, they left a huge gaping hole at center and that's going to bite them in the backside early and often during the season.

Very true. Young didn't live up to his hype for various reasons. Some were his and others were the team's. Hopefully, they get it right this time and he succeeds because that is truly what is best for the team.

That's a failure from the top down; Tepper, GM, scouts, and coaches. Hopefully, the new guy adjusts and creates an offense for Young. Otherwise, the Panthers will be picking another QB in the upcoming draft. They might also be looking for a new coach and GM again too. Eh, Newton had a lot of supporters and believers leading up to the draft. He also had just as many, if not more, haters. People were really split on him, but he was considered a top QB in that draft and a first round talent. That's not an underdog. Delhomme was undrafted, played in NFL Europe, and had to work hard for his chance. He was a textbook underdog.

This can and will affect draft classes even more going forward.

We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, Canales and Young gel and do good things together. That said, I'm not holding my breath.

Feel free. I'm not a UNC fan and don't care if you think they're a snake in the grass. But them possibly leaving the ACC is big news to college sports fans, which there are a lot of. You don't have to like it, but it is what it is.
