The Necas trade is going to be interesting because of how much the Canes want back in a trade for him.
-
He’s asking for 10.5 AAV over 5-7 years. He’d be between 34-36 and making over 10m. There was no way once his asking price was out that he was staying. I mean shoot they don’t want to pay Necas 7.5 or Pesce over 5AAV. For Necas they are trying to get prospects for him and draft picks. Low AAV numbers. if you add Jarvis, Skjei and turbo. Team has 10m in cap space to fill 6-7 spots.

Last season after the draft was mine. I didn’t like the Bryce pick, didn’t think he fit the system at all. He was my qb3 in the draft and the Panthers gave all that capital to get him. This would probably be second for me.
-
Even if he takes a slight discount, you’re still talking about 9-10AAV. I’m not sure they offer it tbh.
-
Yeah because latest projections are for his contract to be 7x10.5AAV. Necas is projected at 7x7.5AAV. don’t think Carolina pays either that kind of money.
-
On Guentzel, seen some say he would be in line for 10.5m AAV on the open market. So probably gone. as for the other, Canucks have been trying to get him since before the trade deadline and he was close to being sent to them then. Canes are wanting a top level prospect back plus for Necas.

RBA doesn’t want to play him at center. Why Necas wants out to begin with
-
He stepped down because he wanted to do something different but also make more money. good news is the team has a trade partner for Necas now.
-
I’d be surprised if it wasn’t Tully, unless they already asked and he wanted more than Dundon was willing to pay.

Where will the wins come from? (my early predictions)

Edge is way worse. Wr room might be a small upgrade , but who’s getting them the ball? te is worse. lb is worse, safety could go either way. Interior line upgraded but still have a turnstile at LT. I think brooks is the teams best RB already but not sure how much he impacts this season. so huge subtractions from defense, slight upgrades at wr and an upgrade at IOL. Yea the team is bad, really bad. -

I’ve got the team winning 2 games again, maybe 3. The roster was bad last year and minus a few upgrades on oline it’s actually worse right now. -
Should be soon, he’ll get one of the open jobs and be gone before fa starts for sure.
-
Right now from what I’ve seen and heard, the canes are asking for draft picks and players on entry level contract for Necas.
-
I would definitely do that trade for sure. I think he would be a perfect fit for Rod
-
Rumors are the priority targets for the team are Jarvis, Guentzel and Chatfield. Then use the remaining 8-9m to fill out the last 7 spots. If they can buy out KK, they will try to get Skjei back.
-
2 year deals with 3rd year options for the assistants. Think Rod’s deal is for 3 years as well.
-
They have control but they can’t afford to keep him (arbitration likely over 5-6m) if they sign Jarvy, Chatty and Guentzel to their expected AAV (17-19m) So they’ll probably want draft picks and prospects. If they don’t sign Guentzel, then yea they can afford to tell him to pound sand but otherwise they can’t.
-
I think some in here are over estimating how far that 27m is going to go. Just Jarvis, Guentzel and Chatfield are going to cost around 17 AAV. Jarvy even with a bridge deal is going to make in the 5m AAV range. Guentzel is going to be in the 9m AAV range. Chatfield will be in the 3-4m AAV range. Skjei wants around 7m AAV, Pesce already turned down a 5m AAV deal last offseason. This team is going to see a lot of changes going into next year. I do mean a lot of them.
-
I know how it works, most experts aren’t expecting him back either and his Father has already made comments on this and hard rumors are saying he won’t sign because the team won’t do what Necas wants. I fully expect him to be traded. 100%
-
Right now I don’t expect Pesce, Necas, DeAngelo, Noesen or Teravainen back. I also think KK is bought out and won’t be back. Guentzel is 50/50, if they give him the money 9-11m per. He’s back but don’t know if they give him that kind of money.
-
He won’t sign any extension unless he’s 1. moved to center 2. plays on the top line 3. gets paid like a top line center. ummmm… he’s not coming back. He doesn’t like Rod because he doesn’t see him as a center in the NHL. so knowing what Necas wants, you still think he comes back and plays somewhere he doesn’t want to???
