  1. Ignore typos. I was on my damn phone at the time and now I can't edit.
  2. I’ve posted a similar thread to this the last two years and it doesn’t really seem to help or make a difference at all but I’m going to post it again anyway. Everybody has their ideal vision for how the draft pans out. Personally I want Sewell. Some want Pitts. Some want Fields. Others want Horn. But regardless of bias, let’s keep perspective whether we get our way or not and remember a few things. A. Once the guy is drafted, he’s a Panther. We should be rooting for his success regardless of whether or not he was our guy. Going on a tirade about him isn’t helpful and it isn’t necessary. I didn’t personally want CMC when we took him. I didn’t believe in taking a RB that early. I still don’t honestly. But I’m happy to admit that I was wrong and even though I REALLY did not want him, the second we picked him, I was supporting him and rethinking my opinions of what he could do for our offense. I remember a lot of people here were angry when we took Luke. That’s one I was actually on board with. But there were a number of unhappy members here upset with the pick. He’s easily one of the best 5 Panthers in our teams history. It’s nice when we have a Star draft where virtually every single one of us had been wishing upon a Star since mid season. But that rarely happens and clearly it isn’t happening this year. Lots of posters are divided on what they believe would be best. But whatever we end up doing, keep perspective. Once he’s the pick, throwing a tantrum isn’t going to change a damn thing. Better to root for the guy. You almost certainly be happier and there’s a decent chance your bear case scenario for the draft wouldn’t actually be that good anyway. I have had the term “blind homerism” thrown in my face a number of times in the past few weeks. Call the Darnold trade or any of our FA signings whatever you want but having a meltdown over unproven draft picks is unreasonable. We has already been brought to our attention today, Steve Smith was a pretty low ranked, under sized prospect when we got him. Once these guys a drafted, don’t poo on them until they have had a chance to show what they can do (and keep in mind, for most rookies that usually takes a few years. See Charles Johnson) That is all. Let’s crush thing draft!
  3. I’m a big craft beer guy and really don’t drink any commercial beers as a rule of thumb. Dos Equis at a Mexican restaurant is the exception to that rule though
  4. It’s cool lol. I had a poster on here take one of my football opinions personally and tell me I was a narcissist for naming myself TheMostInterestingMan and then claimed he had no idea what the reference was. I was like holy poo man, you serious? Lol
  5. It amazes me how many people have forgotten the Dos Equis commercials and don’t connect my avatar with its username lol. I know they can be changed. But mine was created with the avatar in mind. Stay thirsty my friend.
  6. The account cannot simply change its avatar. They were forged and bound together.
  7. My mom is licensed for wildlife rehabilitation in Asheville and years back she had a bobcat for a few months. The cat was found as a baby and before she released it, it got ‘somewhat’ comfortable with her but that thing was scary as hell. They aren’t that big in stature but they are insanely strong and pretty fearless and this thing was wild. You always knew it could rip your face off if it wanted to and mom was the only person it would really let near her. Crazy.
  8. There are no wrong answers in the Circa library. Juturna and On Letting Go also deserve serious consideration.
  9. For sure. He really completed their sound. When I heard Silver String for the first time I got chills lol. Circa will always be my favorite but Greens Saosin would have held that title if he had never left most likely.
  10. It’s an amazing album. Enjoy! They are rumored to be putting out another one together later this year as well.
  11. I was pissed about that as well. I don’t think the mindset is “let’s be the best bad team we can be” though. This is your unwillingness to imagine any scenario where Darnold could succeed. You have already written him off. Fair enough, that’s your opinion, but I’m positive we didn’t just trade for him with the goal being to suck less. They think he can succeed. Could they be wrong? Sure. This may not work out. But they don’t view him as a bad player in the same way you do. They think he can become the guy drafted a few years ago that had lots of talent. And as opinions go, I’m not so sure Fields is the guy everyone thinks. I was a HUGE Fields fan 2 years ago. He was arguably better than Lawrence in my mind. But then last season happened and then you hear mixed reviews on him from scouts. I’m not so sure about him anymore personally. My main guy is Sewell. That’s who I want. If Darnold can be coached up then let’s get him a LT. If he can’t then we are likely taking a QB next year (if not 3rd round this year) and he has his blindside protection already in place. Fields could be great but Sewell is as close to a can’t miss prospect as you get in the 2nd most important position in football. Everyone can bust. Sewell is much less likely to bust than Fields imo. I like Fields and he’s definitely got some tools that can make him a great QB. But it’s the draft process. Same was said about the guy we just traded for. I want to see what he can do here for a year. We’ve invested a 2nd in him. My hope is that worst case scenario we are in this same position next year but with a franchise LT in place. But I do believe Darnold will prove his doubters wrong. Not that I think he’ll ever be elite but I think he can be a solid QB. We’ll see.
  12. I’m not saying all because that is certainly not the case, but many of the supporters of the Darnold move that I’ve read aren’t calling him the next league MVP. I think it was a mixture of feeling relief that we didn’t trade away our future on a draft prospect and some optimism that he can turn things around. I have said since day one that he may not pan out. I really think best case scenario is he could end up being a Jake caliber QB. But I’m certainly glad we didn’t have to lose tons of future assets and I would rather give Darnold a try this year and draft a stud LT than draft a Trey Lance who clearly isn’t NFL ready at this point. That isn’t blind homerism. I’m laying out my position pretty clearly. That’s the discussion part that’s been often missing these days.
  13. Of course I was. Been coming here for 10 years. But that’s literally my point. It has not stopped since Cam was released. It’s been this way over a year now. And guess what? I wanted us to keep Cam. Figured if he could stay healthy then we still had our franchise guy and if he could not then we would be in the Lawrence sweepstakes as his contract ran out. But ever since then it’s just been constant man. That’s my only gripe. As Mav said, reasonable disagreement is fine but it’s just gone way beyond that for so long now.
  14. Disagreements aren’t my problem. Indeed, that’s what makes this place worth coming back to. My problem is disagreements have now led to angry reactionary crybabies insisting everyone involved in this organization is ignorant of football and multiple alt accounts spawning out of nowhere to throw massive tantrums. Disagreement in discussion is great. Having meltdowns even has its time and place. But after an entire fugging year, this behavior from half this board has worn its welcome. It isn’t discussion. It’s a poo throwing meme fest
  15. I’m not specifically pointing at you but the tone of this place in general for the last year. I’ve seen Tepper is going to ruin this franchise, Rhule is in over his head and so on for a year now. I also saw that Snow was a terrible pick for DC that was only here because he was a comfort blanket for Rhule. You don’t believe in Darnold. That’s fair. You think the trade was bad. That I caution because the alternative would have been keeping Teddy or likely trading lots of capital for yet another unproven rookie that has a near likelihood of being Darnold anyway. I’m just fatigued with constant negativity concerning how stupid this franchise is around here. That theme hasn’t shut up since we signed Teddy. And true, that was clearly a bad signing. But as I keep repeating, everyone expected this team to need 3-4 years to rebuild before being competitive when we signed Rhule. It’s been one year. The defense was not very talented and punched above their weight. If CMC had been healthy all year we probably win another game or two. We vastly exceeded expectations. I just want the moaning to stop for two months ffs. We have had a solid FA filling holes, the draft is coming up. I just would like to get excited about what’s coming in five days, you know? I’m not saying you, but this place in general. I come here because I love talking football but this has become the most emo sports forum I’ve ever been a part of.
  16. I’m only having a meltdown towards posters who have cried for over a year now that Tepper sucks, Rhules an idiot, they brought in Teddy and know nothing. The crying and threats of leaving this teams fandom has grown damn tiresome by the reactionary portion of this forum. The same ones wanting to give three 1sts for Wilson are now pointing out Darnold was a top 5 pick. Do you at least see the irony in that?
  17. And that’s fair. What isn’t fair is calling our owner, GM and head coach a moron for trading a second for him when many of those same complainers at one point wanted us to trade multiple firsts just to get Lance. That is actually insane. That’s where many of us (myself included) have gotten tired of the Darnold bashing. It isn’t so much about Darnold as it is the fact he hasn’t taken a snap yet and people are throwing the entire franchise to to bottom as hopeless morons for making the deal.
