  1. And after we play this year I expect his ranking to improve. We are really under the radar this year which traditionally has been good for us.
  2. https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/panthers-offensive-supporting-cast-ranked-133046847.html Maybe this will be like 2015 when our last number 1 draft pick took the worse receiver corps all the way to the Superbowl.
  3. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/where-frank-reich-ranks-as-an-nfl-head-coach. I can surely see that some of the folks ahead of him deserve to be there. But Payton is number 3 with a win percentage of 57% and a playoff record of 11-11 or 50%. I have always thought he was not nearly as good as others think.
  4. On a positive note by the middle of the year we will be called a surprise team for playing much better than predicted or we will be like in 2015 when we routinely were called the worse team that kept winning.
  5. Interesting that before the draft we were ranked 25th and after the draft we slipped to 28th despite getting the number 1 pick in the draft. Either other teams supposedly improved more than we did or once again we are being largely discounted.
  6. Hard to defend Henderson after the Tampa game. And I don't think we need a stud at our 4th corner as much as competent. Apparently that is asking too much.
  7. Obviously we need Horn to stay healthy which has been an issue. And honestly I have never been a big Jackson fan. He seems to play smaller than he is. But why Henderson has sucked is very disappointing. He looks lost at times which I attribute to coaching. Maybe I am wrong. But it seems to me other teams can plug and play guys in the secondary and we rarely have had a depth guy step up and play well since Norman left. And other guys have been here for years but still struggle. I would like to blame Rhule and the fact we didn't even have a full compliment of secondary coaches last season but it seems an ongoing problem. While teams do struggle without their top starters they don't always go from good to horrid when the depth guys go in. I just don't buy the argument we can't develop secondary talent.
  8. Maybe it is just me but if this staff is as good as advertised then why can't they coach up our secondary to play better than they have in the past. Why will they suck because they have struggled in the past? It isn't usually physical skill or ability as you don't get this far without ability. So if it is technique and practice we should have several folks who show a big improvement this year.
  9. Seems the players think so. And that does matter a lot. Hard not to get excited about the future around here. It been too long since we had a good reason to be excited about the team.
  10. Any studies comparing different types compared to rate of noncontact injuries. How else do they determine what is good or bad??
  11. There are better and worse types of artificial turf. We should as least have the best kind. I don't think we do from what I have read.
  12. Most games are Saturday but there are a few that are Wednesday and then Saturday in the same week. And this is not a regular yard. And no they didn't have weeks to prepare. We played a Saturday game on turf and less than a week layer we did grass and shifted it back again in less than a week to turf.
  13. Two or three concerts a year shouldn't stop us from having grass. It isn't like they do something every week.
  14. We have 2 home matches in August, 2 in September and 2 in October. So there won't be a lot of degradation to the field if it was grass. Most soccer teams in the world play on grass and I have not seen more damage in soccer versus football. If you look at the cleats of football shoes versus soccer which one tears up the field more?? Football is a lot more destructive to the field than soccer and the sod on the sidelines can be easily replaced for soccer games if needed just like we did for the Chelsea game. No there is no good reason not to have grass.
  15. With all the changes it is predictable we will be seen as not very good. I hope we can catch some fire and surprise some folks this year.
  16. Burns is what? 25. He isn't elite but he is a good pass rusher and is learning to be much better against the run. He is a probowler and will get paid as such. As long as we manage the guaranteed money we can pay him a boatload which he will see if he keeps improving or may not see all of it if he drops off. I wish more contracts were incentive based.
  17. I thought he made a good point about coaching. We have the best head coach and staff in the division. We went 6-6 with Wilks who got stuck with who we had and was shorthanded in the secondary both coaches and players. If as Cowherd said that coaching was 30-40 % of winning and we have equal talent and superior coaches then it isn't too crazy to predict a winning season even with Young at QB. With Dalton as backup if Bryce gets hurt we can still make some noise.
  18. With both guards potentially out for a while, we have to have swing players like Erving to shore up everything in the event of setbacks or injury. He doesn't suck............
  19. So apparently you not only have poor comprehension but no ability to infer meaning and determine what he was saying. There was no.leap just a lack of awareness ion your part to the obvious. And each response just makes you look more obtuse. Let it go.
  20. The exact same thing we need to do for Young so he succeeds right off the bat.
  21. The article quoting him saying that. Reading comprehension isn't your friend. He would pick Baker over those three and he thinks he has a better deal. Since clearly you don't see what seems obvious to me, I won't go back and forth over a player I didn't like and he isn't a Panther anymore. I don't care what he does unless he plays against us and I hope he sucks that game. Done with this discussion.
  22. Actually he said he had Baker rated higher than any of the 2023 prospects so it isn't a leap to assume that if Baker was coming out this year that Ariens would have picked him. And Baker has experience good or bad. So yeah Ariens thinks he has a better deal. And until Young shows his ability it isn't just hyperbole. Personally I think Mayfield isn't a good quarterback who can be effective in the right scheme as long as he has a lot of talent. Not something he has in Tampa.
  23. Seems McAdoo did pretty well with Darnold so he wasn't the problem. Rhule on the other hand- yeah he was inadequate at best.
  24. This is your negative reality which we will see fall apart when the bullets start to fly. I will be sure to remind you of that making multiple posts just like you are. Enjoy it now as much as I surely will relish reminding you of this. The last QB who was drafted in the first round from Alabsma, Mac Jones, went 10-6 his rookie year. Serious question. Why are you trolling so hard. Who peed in your cornflakes
  25. I hope we have the worse team that goes to the playoffs just like 2015. Reich will make it easy for Young by emphasizing running the ball and scheming people open. Given he is best under pressure I am not sure he will struggle as a rookie. Mac Jones came from the same program and how did he do his rookie year?? I'll take 10-7 this year which likely wins the division. And they mention Carr as a legitimate vet but ignore we have Dalton who a seasoned vet as well. Just saying....
