Can't get much worse than taking Mac Jones if Sewell is there. That would be disastrous.

Sewell then Slater. Double down with interior OL round two. This franchise has taken 2 OL in the first round in the last 25 drafts. The one top 10 selection used on OT was Jordan Gross and he gave us stability for years. Make it a priority for once. You can add whatever weapons you want but if you don't give a young raw qb like Sam a LT it's not going to be pretty.

He seems to be in that range as well don't know much about him though. I'm a USC fan so I just put St. Brown, and you're presumably a UNC fan and put Brown haha. Always have to throw one of your college guys in the mock.

My ideal first 3 picks. Build the line. Then put St. Brown in the slot and let him go to work. Another option could be go CB/S in round 3 and add Demetric Felton in round 4 as a gadget guy.

Agree, double down on the OL first two picks and call it a day. Regardless of if Darnold ends up the answer or not, having a good OL in place is huge.

Tannehill was better through three years. I don't disagree. He had good year 3 numbers. But the scenarios are also very different. Darnold is much newer/younger to the position (started barely over a year in high school and just two at USC) and had a much worse situation entering the NFL. Still just 23 (basically how old Joe Burrow was his senior year at LSU with Joe Brady). The trade is a bet on our coaching. They really like Darnold's talent obviously. Really the only pick of real value we gave up is a 2022 second. Risk/reward here is very good. Give it a rest.

Ryan Tannehill was also throwing it 590 times a season. Darnold actually had more yards per attempt in his first two seasons than Tannehill. definitely doing some massive cherry picking...

Yep. Also almost a year younger than Burrow. Played LB for first two years at San Clemente (filled in for two starts at QB). Junior year, played 4 games due to injury. Dude had 106 pass attempts going into his senior year of high school. Started two years at USC. So basically he only had 3 years LIFETIME experience as a QB before being drafted by the Jets and was forced to start with no weapons and poor coaching. Recipe for disaster for anyone let alone a guy that new to the position.

Agree with this and could easily see this happening. But at the same time, part of me would just want Slater at 8 in this scenario and call it a day. Finally address LT with a first rounder.

CMC played against Darnold twice his senior year. Robby Anderson had him throwing to him. Joe Brady is supposed to be a QB guru and we already picked up the option. It's as if they see something people here don't...what a profound idea lol.

Darnold didn't play QB until he was a junior in high school. He saved Clay Helton's job single handedly, and then played under gase. dude hasn't had legit coaching his entire career. That will change here.

Someone may have said this (didn't read through all the pages) but Michael Sam was technically the star of the Missouri line and Ealy looks promising!
