Rhule is young relatively speaking track record of being able to win and recruit in college FB name recognition with NFL connections not going to do anything off the field to embarrass the school and program

Personally, if UM doesn’t hire Rhule I couldn’t care less who they have as a coach. I don’t even have the slightest idea of candidates. Luke Fickell? He is an Ohio State guy but I’m sure they would take him.

Minnesota and Iowa State both have solid coaches in place that I would keep over Rhule. PJ Fleck is a guy to keep an eye on when the Carolina job opens up in a couple seasons.

Look at some of the coaches UM has hired. Personally, I think they could do better than Rhule but I believe most Michigan fans would be excited about this hire unless they live in Charlotte.

Notre Dame just hired an Ohio State coach who played at OSU more recently than Rhule did at PSU. Money talks, opportunities are limited, and people want to win. Michigan boosters would get over the whole “PSU alumni” thing real quick with a win over Ohio state. You are thinking way too much into this

Rhule is the type of manager/boss you would see on Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible who is in charge of a place that is horrible and failing; when Chef Ramsay comes in Rhule hops on the #1 spot on the line and starts bossing people around and pretends to act like he knows what he is doing.
