Mannnnnn, there are gonna be a lot of receipts in a couple of years depending on how this goes. A lot to walk-back and some delicious crow to eat. Should be interesting.

I don't know enough of how deep an organization is into the offseason, at this time of year. Based off other folks smarter than me with how front offices' run, it makes no more sense to fire a GM and his band of merry men midseason than it does on Black Monday. If it's inevitable and this is the move (the correct move FTR), I'm happy for a new regime. SF is arguably more responsible for this awful 1-12 product than Reich was.

Two points here.... - The Alabama deep ball numbers are concerning because you have to hit on that at the NFL level. I didn't see his 2022 numbers there....I wonder if those are better after a year as the starter? - Look at how few attempts he's made on a per game basis before yesterday. Kinda hard to get comfortable if you never do it. The connection with your WRs, their tendencies, confidence, etc. has been a non-factor for the first 12 games. Biggest thing I noticed yesterday was our desire and execution of forcing the ball downfield. I loved it even though he was off. This will come with reps. More talent at the skill positions will help too. Having a running game adds another layer.

I didn't go through all 16 pages, but I think BY will be fine. Rookie mistakes? Yup. Does he look like the "point guard" "doesn't need elite talent...." cerebral QB that doesn't lose? Nope. He is in the midst of a sh!t show offense that I can't remember in my 25+ years of watching this team. He's broken, but not unfixable. There's no easy fix, but a few big time FAs that support him, move Icky to LG and hit on day 2/3 draft picks will go a long way. He's owning mistakes. He's owning other's mistakes and taking it on like a leader does. He gets knocked down 10 times, he gets up 11. His passes don't get batted. He's staying healthy despite getting destroyed week in and week out. First fix though....hiring the correct GM/HC partnership. If we F that up, Bryce is cooked.

Can we also do Steichen over Reich? Steichen/Stroud was the right answer.

If Icky is what we think he will be at LG, I would think that would benefit BC at LT. BC has been good, not great thus far. With a LOT of time off the past year plus, I think he could return to LT in the right scheme next to Icky. Signing a vet in FA or after cuts would be wise too. Donovan Smith is no spring chicken but on a short deal, could make sense. Worst case, Icky to LG and BC to RG for Corbett insurance until Zavala is ready.

I think, as others have pointed out as well, that Ben Johnson is the preferred route, but doubt we are his choice. At that point, Harbaugh looks like the strongest and wisest move to make at this point. This sh!t show in Charlotte needs to be gutted and rebuilt. Harbaugh is the top candidate to do this successfully. Seeing what JH did with Alex Smith and Kaep, I think it also helps Bryce get his confidence back if it truly is as shaken as it appears. Our OL is already partially built for Harbaugh's style and we might be able to keep the only good coach on this staff in Evero with his previous ties to JH in SF.

Before this weekend, I was not a fan of Harbaugh here. After seeing how broken and inept we are all year long, I do wonder if someone like him would have an effect like Payton is having in Denver. Russ' play took an insane nosedive last year and was wondering if his best days were behind him. What SP has done to right the Broncos this quickly is impressive, despite not liking the guy. Harbaugh's offensive approach is not what I want per se, but he does have a successful history with guys like Smith and Kaep that I wonder would translate over to Bryce. He also wins, his teams are physical and don't quit and walking in here is very reminiscent of how it was for him in SF. They were blowing through coaches, constantly losing and their ownership was a laughingstock. This team is more than just an offseason or two away from roster juggling and hiring a young and upcoming OC/DC. If Johnson isn't the answer and they don't stay internal with EE, then Harbaugh might be the next best move. I never thought I'd want JH here, but I'm tired of losing and looking like an XFL Team in preseason mode.

WR and OT class is deep. We could get a first-round talent at WR in mid/late round 2. If our goal is to protect Bryce and build our IOL so he can perform better like was done for Brees, kicking Icky inside is a no-brainer. I'd like to see BC with some experience under his belt and a stud LG like Icky beside him. We could find a very good OT in R3 this year too. All depends on HC/GM and the direction they want to go in. If it is someone like Harbaugh, our current OL (with Icky at G) is made for his style of offense.

I have zero idea how the body of work will end up for Mingo vs. Dell. It clearly favors Dell right now and it's not close. Based on the production in school, Mingo was a long-term solution at WR and was going to need some seasoning and polish. AJ Brown, who Mingo is often compared to, was a late-bloomer. I'd kill to have AJB here right now. Also, Dell is 24 years old compared to Mingo being 22. Not that this is an indicator, but Mingo's routes look lazy right now and he still has the college hangover of being better than everyone else.....not in the NFL. I think those two years could be a difference in maturity too. Lastly, it's the system. Watching this team on offense is painful. Everything looks so difficult, labor-intensive and super-slow to develop. Route concepts don't make sense, there's zero protection which means zero running game to set-up the pass. These defenses are sitting back and keeping everything in front of them beacuse they know Reich's system is trash. Every single player has regressed except for AT and Chuba.

Makes sense that the two guys we are pursuing are 1 & 2. I'd argue that BJ has more to do with DETs success than Smith in MIA, but Smith is probably this year's Slowik.

I think if we don't give it to Evero or Caldwell, this is the answer. Like you said, Smith and McDaniel understood Tua's strengths (RPO/pistol at Bama, smart, off-script) and deficiencies (frame, durability), and crafted an offense around him that succeeded. We need to build everything around Bryce. Coaching staff, scheme, OL, running game, personnel....everything. Smith also fits with the direction Tepper will lean this time on the HC carousel. Young, innovative, offensive-minded, and a disciple of the Shannahan tree.

I have to think this is a move that gets made closer to the end of the season, if not on the infamous Black Monday. If they think that they will lose out on candidates between now and then, maybe we pull the trigger and promote Morgan or Wilson to interim GM so we can interview others. No real upside to letting Fitts go mid-season as long as his duties are limited to keeping the lights on at the inn. Him not being at Tepper's side during the presser says all I need to know. Dead man walking.

Peters would be most folks' choice and for good reason. He was a finalist last time but lost to Fitts. I wonder how that works with GMs and if they would accept after not being "the guy" the first time, only to be courted after the guy you lost to failed.

It's fun trying to sift through fact and fiction in the aftermath of firings. Based on how awful the OL has been when they were the one constant (players & coaching) that we didn't have to be too concerned about outside of the Corbett injury, I believe the RPO declination. Watching this team from preseason game 1 to last Sunday in Nashville, this offense epitomizes "square peg, round hole". Every player outside of AT have regressed heavily. I'd say Chuba and Tremble maintained last year's numbers.

First off, sad for Corbett. He's been our best OL for the last two years. He and Moton held down the right side up until his injuries. I do wonder how he will recover. This injury is week 11 and his last injury was week 17, so maybe he's ready to go by week one, but I don't trust this S&C staff at all. Time to find a new LT and juggle the OL for next year. LT - Icky - Bozeman - Christensen - Moton Christensen - Icky - Boze - Zavala - Moton I feel for Corbett, but our priority is protecting Bryce. Icky moving to LG has to be the move next year.

Surprised more folks aren’t pushing for Evero. Watching what he’s done here with a depleted D, being a young, rising HC candidate already to other teams and seeing what Ryans is doing in Houston, I’m all for it. Evero and Ben Johnson are 1A & 1B. I do hope they let go of Fitts & Reich together so it’s a clean sweep.

I know we're not supposed to compare our rookie to previous rookies or whatever was said earlier. I do think fans in Miami and Philly are quite happy with their signal callers. Same for JAX too probably. The Dolphins and even more so, Eagles fans were trashing Tua and Hurts initially. Once Carolina finds their Tyreek, Waddle, Smith, Brown, Bryce will thrive. Ironically, we probably have our AJ Brown already here in Mingo....just need to be patient. There was a reason AJ was traded from TEN early on.

Unless we go 1-16 this year, I don't see us letting go of Reich + Co. If they did, they better promote Evero to HC or risk looking even more incompetent than they already do. I could see Fitts going, but I'd prefer Wilson get promoted or if we go outside the org, they bring in Adam Peters or Louis Riddick.
