Now we know why AT&T had 12 hour outage
Davidson Deac II replied to Lame Duck's topic in Huddle Lounge
If outsiders gained access to a company's network, the last thing they would want to do is cause an outage that brings attention to them. Such a hack would be subtle, and likely discovered after the fact. The vast majority of major outages are caused by software/code upgrades that were improperly vetted, or engineers making a mistake. Sometimes denial of service attacks are a big problem as well. Data breaches rarely if ever are accompanied by an outage. -

Its highly unlikely that the two are related in any way, other that both are ATT. That is just not the way it works. -
My guess is TMJ will be cut and have a shot to catch on somewhere else.
-
As a Wake fan, I would just love to see them make it next year
-
83 actually.
-
Probably not, most NBA power forwards have to play on the perimeter now. But Burns will make money playing bball somewhere.
-
Duke couldn't throw it in the Ocean right now.
-
No doubt they will have to restock, but a final four appearance makes that a little easier.
-
Make the final four, beat the team that beat you in the ACC tournament? They will have loads of confidence. Doesn't mean they will win.
-
UConn is the best team, but any one of the four teams could win it. Barkley said it earlier. Confidence is huge. Duke or NCSU will have loads of it if they win today.
-
These teams are really lighting it up offensively.
-
With all the talk about Burns and Horn, I think a key factor in NCSU's run is Diarra. He is averaging nearly 14 boards per game over the last 7 games. That is a amazing stat.
-
Ref missed a foul there, but doesn't really matter. Looking good for Purdue right now. Going to be one team in the final four from each of the major BBall conferences.
-
I won't say they will. But with the one and done nature of the NCAA tournament and the three point shot, I think any remaining team could win it. All it would take is a couple of guys getting hot from three while the favorite has an off night. Also, this NCSU team team probably has more talent than the Valvano team, while its likely that none of the tournament teams has the talent that Houston did.

Panthers agree to terms with linebacker Tae Davis

And being a journeyman is ok. All teams, even Kansas City has a few of those to fill out the roster. -
Well, didn't really ask for it, or want it even. Think I just said it will be interesting. And I am glad that the ACC will have one, and maybe two teams in the final four. Yet another "down" year.
-
Congrats to Duke, but you have to admit, it helped a lot when Houston's best player got injured.
-
Duke vs NCSU for a trip to the final four.
-
Well, that should do it. NCSU to the elite 8. If Duke can pull off a win tonight, that would be an interesting rematch.
-
College teams shoot way to many threes these days.
-
Neither team is playing much offense tonight.

From what I read, it was closer to 150,000 tons. I also read that the generator kicked in when power went out, but the generator either doesn't or wouldn't power the steering. That is the one thing about this that doesn't make sense. Should the generator power the steering, and if not, why not? I remember reading about ships in WWII that lost power during a battle. USS South Dakota was one that did. Can't imagine anything scarier than losing power when engaging the enemy. Fwiw, when I was on the Iowa, we lost power once. Fortunately, we were sailing in the middle of the Ocean, nothing to hit.
