  1. We RARELY throw to the running back. So, yes. (Teaching a RB to block isn't rocket surgery.)
  2. I honestly think Gordon is a better fit for this offense than Gurley. Gordon ran from the shot-gun read-option often in his college offense. He's one-cut-and-GO. A perfect fit. Gurley, as awesome as he is, played strictly behind the QB in I-formation and single-back. LOVE Melvin Gordon.
  3. Love KB. His ceiling isn't even in sight. He not only can get better, but I think he will. But, yeah, he was a pretty horrible route runner last year. And it wasn't only him, it was pretty much every receiver we had except Thor. Is Proehl just not getting through to'em?
  4. Indeed. 19 year old soldiers making about 20K a year are dodging bullets in Afghanistan, but can't buy a beer when they come back home. A 21-year old pampered pet that can't keep the ganja out of his mouth or his life and is still in line to be given millions of dollars? HE'S JUST A KID!
  5. Something our current WR corps aren't very good at. The ball is there but where is the WR? Oh, he rounded off his cut and then loafed his ass out of it, that's where.
  6. My preference in the first 3 rounds is any combo of OT/WR/DE. After that? Yeah, RB sounds fine to me. If you can get a kid like Cameron Artis-Payne from Auburn (yes, I'm biased), a kid who was the Southeastern Conference's leading rusher in 2014, a kid with experience and great success in a read-option, one-cut offense, in the 4th or 5th round? Hell yeah, sign me up.
  7. Thats even more scary IMO. When it comes to "coachability" it seems to me you could probably coach a guy to use his hands. How do you coach a guy to concentrate?
  8. Why in the world would you spend a 2nd round pick on Hardy when he'll probaby be available in the 4th?
  9. Gotta love instead of answering the question inventing a fantasy. Which team just agreed to trade their 2nd and 3rd round draft choices to us for our lower 1st, chief? You know there's gotta be a trade partner (in this case, an insane one) to make a trade like that, right?
  10. Peat. You can get guy somewhat close to Perriman (Devin Smith?) in the 2nd round or lower. You ain't gonna get a guy like Peat in the 2nd round or lower.
  11. Except old dogs learn new tricks in the NFL all the damn time. Nobody thought Elway would ever get another chance at a Super Bowl... until Mike Shanahan became his coach. Nobody thought Jim Plunkett would ever win a Super Bowl... until Dan Pastorini (the Raiders starter) got hurt in 1980 and an old, washed-up, back-up QB Plunkett had to step in and fill in for the rest of the year, won 9 of the Raiders remaining 11 games, earned a Wild Card berth in the playoffs, and won the Super Bowl. And another point to your faulty old adage... neither Oher nor Martin are "old dogs". They are still young.
  12. Do too much? What the heck do you mean by that? You realize that even as a backup he actually has to put a hand on the pass-rusher when he's in the game, right?
  13. A guy who graded consistently lower than Martin... Made twice what Martin makes... You would rather have that guy over Martin. Well, I guess we can count out logic and reason as one of your strong suits.
  14. WTF??!?!?! All of the Internet Heroes in this thread have assured me that young Mr. Martin is soft as a marshmallow. That all those years he played and dominated in one of the best college football conferences in the country, he was allowed to play using powder-puff football rules. Surely you must be mistaken?
  15. And yet a professional in football evaluation, the General Manager of the Carolina Panthers, David Gettleman, obviously does see "potential". And obviously thinks he's worth the RISK of bringing him in to compete and try to earn a position... And by RISK, I mean NO RISK AT ALL since if it doesn't work out WE DON'T OWE HIM A GODDAM DIME. So, in your long-time, professional football evaluators opinion, you're saying he's not worth that kind of "risk", eh? Damn... Gettleman needs to be informed of this valuable information STAT.
  16. Ergo why I said "You don't have to answer. I know you understand." Did you just skip over that part of what I wrote?
  17. I understand he either is or may not be "that good" a player. But since he's a player that can be CUT without owing him a damn dime if he is, indeed, not "that good", how can this be in any way construed as a "bad signing"? Don't worry, you don't have to answer. I know you understand. I was just stating a rhetorical question for the moron troglodytes and brainless internet badasses.
  18. Can you explain why, in particular, you are not a fan? You do realize we can cut him with no obligation, correct?
  19. Would pay good money to see how tough you would be to his face though.
