I have no idea who that seth rollins chump is, but he seems like someone who should get a kick in his nads every time he opens his mouth.

I was watching the reactions of different people to the pic on YouTube this morning and Mike McCarthy said that there are two types of receivers: Framers and Pluckers. Framers have to frame the ball up to catch it sbd pluckers just pluck the ball out of the air no matter where it is and TMac is obviously a plucker, which is kind of fun to watch but almost boring because he just makes it look effortless. What got me was there was some DB also on the show that said "DBs love Framers" . I know people will talk about his level of competition in college vs what he will face in the pros (which can be said for any player coming into the pros from college....it's a silly argument). But it's obvious that TMac was THE focal point of their offense. It was obvious to people watching, but also obvious to teams they were playing. Teams they faced KNEW that they were going to be going to TMac early and often and that they had to put most of their efforts into stopping him, so they did and they couldn't. Not only could they not stop him, he made it look easy and effortless. He absolutely dominated and there is no question about that. If you have a player, let's say a WR, that has been playing against defenders who might not be the best out there, what do you want to see them do? Struggle? Have to fight hard to keep it competitive? Or do you want him to make it look effortless and make it look like a man playing against children? I was/am still in shock a bit because 1) it's obvious that the biggest need we had was defense even though WR was still a huge nerd and 2) I really believed that it was going to be defense. There was no doubt in my mind that we would be going defense and there was nothing leaking out of pantherland from usual media sources or from the few remaining people/connections I had come to rely on that indicated they were seriously considering TMac. This tells me 2 things. 1) they are doing better about keeping their intentions quiet and misleading the NFL community (this is good) 2) they went by their board exclusively and didn't draft based on need, but by BPA using their own standards and metrics and weren't swayed by what all the draft pundits were saying (this also is good). I will get more comfortable with the pick, and so will 99% of the rest of you. For the remainder 1%....they just need to eat more fiber.

This makes me feel better. Still wanted defense. And I'm still in shock, but this helps right here...

I seriously am having trouble getting excited about him. Oh well.

solid, but not sexy?

despite what i said about the top of this draft, i think we can get a lot of good players in this draft. this will be a good draft for filling out the roster with good players, not for drafting all-pro players.

i mean outside of hunter, is there anyone in this draft that teams are going nuts over? most other years would Ward have been the top pick? probably not. i think that there will be some really good starters in the first round this year, but i don't know that anyone is looking at this class going "all pro player, right there" that's probably the root of some of it. people looking to get into the 1st round are probably the most desperate of the desperate grasping at straw instead of studs hoping that they can get a position of need filled. i mean that's usually the case, but i think usually it would have been harder to try and trade into the top ten. just doesn't feel like this draft has much to offer at the top of it. like most of the top 10 would have been middle to late first rounders other years. it's just not an exciting class. i'm probably looking at it wrong, but that's just what my really uninterested and uneducated eyes are seeing.

this draft definitely has a weird vibe to it. the fact that there hasn't been any trades this past week or so has me feeling like we're going to be seeing a lot of stuff going on. another thing is that player valuations are all over the place. aside from maybe a couple, there's not a lot of continuity and consensus regarding player rankings. i think we'll see a lot of surprise picks.

so the most accurate mocker there is currently and the the guy who has gotten the panthers pick twice are both calling Walker here at 8? starting to think maybe we're getting Walker.

best player available is subjective. every team will have their own list based on their needs and fit and metrics. what the media's supposed consensus is doesn't matter.

wow that's a lot of stuff. pretty impressive amount of work. since i haven't been following a lot of the pre-draft stuff this will help out a lot.

i think we get into the playoffs this year. i think we can win the NFCS and we can win it with 9 wins.
