Josh McRoberts’ time with the Heat hadn’t been going well.

From offseason toe surgery that limited him in camp to ripping his jersey in frustration to another minor injury sidelining him, something has often been going wrong. There was hope the new acquisitionwould get back on track, but it won’t happen anytime soon.

As poorly as McRoberts has played this season – he’s averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game – the Heat have been much better with him on the court.

McRoberts on:

  • Offensive rating: 103.9
  • Defensive rating: 97.8
  • Net rating: +6.1

McRoberts off:

  • Offensive rating: 103.5
  • Defensive rating: 110.0
  • Net rating: -6.5

His skills – passing, shooting and defending with length – just work in Erik Spoelstra’s system.

Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
