Sagging pants originated in prison designating a 'bitch'.

I chuckle when I see some dumbass thinking it's cool.

This is an urban myth.

While it's very possible that the overall trend started because of prison dress, it had nothing to do with bitch status or whatever you want to call it. It started because more often than not, your prison garb, especially in county jails prior to prison, consists of ill fitting clothes or ones with broken elastic or strings....hard to keep your pants up.
