It could be that the idea was floated and money already committed when malls were still popular and profitable. Such is no longer the case...

So, the wise thing to do, Mint Hill, would be to look ahead about 15-20 years, if that, and decide what and how you can convert a poo-ton of empty retail spaces, lack of tax revenues, lack of customer traffic and a huge slab of concrete and walls. Basically a retail ghost town.

I think it's going to be more of a shopping complex (think arboretum like) rather than a full blown mall. Lawyers road will need to be widened though. Traffic will stack up quick there.
