Brett Favre: Cheap Shot Artist

Yeah, I was watching that game. That was a very uncool thing he did. Haven't heard what happened to the player he did that to yet, but he had to leave the game.

Just another notch in the "losing all respect belt" I have for Favre. I hope like hell he get's fined to the max, but being who he is I highly doubt it.

He certainly can afford it....but we'll see what the NFL does.

He will be fined, if the NFL has any integrity left...

Well....if Goodson got 7,500 for the throat slashing gesture, Favre should get 75,000 for that bullsh1t stunt he pulled.

Goodson is a rookie, and Favre should know better after being in the league for what....40 years now??

:D

I don't know if they fine for crackback blocks, I don't think so.

How about that completely bullpoo roughing the passer call he was the benefit of on top of that???

That hit looked bad. Geno Wilson's knee went sideways. Hope it isn't an MCL.

I'm just glad Madden wasn't there or we'd have heard why that was a courageous block, what with the cracked ribs, bad shoulder and all.

Favre's reaction to this as reported by PFT:

Favre, meanwhile, applied his own unique version of the "aw, shucks" routine to the situation.

"Believe me, I hope [Wilson is] OK," Favre said. "I hope it didn't look as bad on film as it may have seemed but my intentions, believe me, were not to hurt anyone, including myself. . . . Believe me, my intentions were not to be cheap. . . . I'll be 40 years old in October and was weeding 13 days ago. I wasn't thinking about throwing blocks."

It was bad enough that Gruden and Jaws slurped him all night and didn't get on him for that. He's got to be one of few men out there who gets more BJs than what he wants.

Good point...

But look who's lined up to suck it... Gruden, Jaworski, Madden... not most guys idea of a good BJ...

Of course this is Favre we're talking about... he just likes the attention, gay or not...

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
