Good Article on Cam in Washington Post

This article highlights how fuging stupid most of our fans are.

They make big deals over nothing and their football knowledge is highly lacking.

Maybe, cause most of them aren't Panther fans, and just pretend they are (and the writer didn't care about learning or reporting this).

I mean, how many "true Panther fans" are in Charlotte?

Minus the very loud minority, it appears most hardcore Panther fans wouldn't trade Cam Newton for any QB in the world.

You guys are being naive if you don't think this article hits on great points as far as the old south vs cam.

It makes good points but they are overemphasized to a ridiculous degree.

It makes it look like Panthers fans are begrudging his success, and that's not the case at all.

The two radio guys the article references are a Bears fan and a Cowboys fan respectively, so while they have a perspective about the city's sports landscape they probably don't have the enthusiasm a Panthers fan would have about the team if you asked the same questions, and that clearly appears to have influenced the tone of the article.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
    • His daughter's initials are CAM.  Coincidence? I think not
