The Panther brand...yeah bc that was a thing before Cam got here. The team has never been more relevant. He's got a whole show for kids. I'd say the "Panther brand" is just fine.

plenty of the "greats" in sports are assholes btw...not sure why we are pretending that's not a thing

So the Panthers were nothing--had no brand--before Cam arrived?   Cam is not bigger than the Panther brand and he did not create it. Maybe for 12-year old fans who just jumped on the bandwagon when they started winning--how long have you been on this forum?    So you start your argument with a misconception and then bash others for not buying into your romantic, subjective, unsubstantiated opinion.  Not surprised.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
