Panthers VS Falcons Review..

Alright...lets get to it.

1) Delhomme DID NOT lose us the game!!! I am so fricken tired of hearing how its his fault because of his 1 pick on a 4th down. Honestly guys, im very very proud of his performance. Its not easy to do that after 2 horrific games.

Plus, usually fox would kick the field goal on 4th down. if we did then everyone would complain about being to "conservitive". Hell, all the atlanta guy had to do was knock the pass down and then no one would be complaining. Stats are becoming to important to people when they shouldnt.

Why blame delhomme, when he had 1 TO? Williams had a TO during a big drive too but no one blamed him? So who is to blame?...

2) The blame goes on the Defense....No Pass Rush, Horrible Coverage, and even our special teams on kickoff hardly helped at all. Idk how many times Ryan threw a 5 yd out and got 9 yards out of it.

3) This was a horrible Ref crew...im not blaming our loss on this...but it could help if there wasnt that BS PI call on Gonzalez. I also don't know how many times the refs were generous in spotting the ball for the Falcons, also the numerous holds/false starts that wern't called.

4) Look guys..i know a loss isnt good. but take a look at this...Last week we had hardly over 100 yards of offense...delhomme threw for over 300, and williams, stewart and smith all were on fire. I felt deangelo and stew should have gotten the ball at least a couple more times. but still, our offense Rebounded. thats big. Also, we are forgetting that losing by 8 to a 2-0 Atlanta Falcons team with new additions on Offense and Defense isnt that bad. We played very hard against a playoff team.

So basically...In order for us to get a must win before our bye week next week against Dallas...our D needs to step it up. Jake has his swagger back, and williams and stewart are on their way back to shape.

Let us all try one thing...Stay positive for this whole week. It helps. Remember...its only Week 3 for us now. We could go 14-2 for all we know. its the nfl...anything can happen. go panthers!

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
