Actually no I believe SEC leads against other conference in head to head games, its been a down year but SEC is still the best conference.

Every conference has nut huggers,  the main point is SEC has legit defense you have to play against which is something big 12 doesn't have on a consistent basis.

Fred Ross >

James Washington has 7 catches for 116 yards and a TD at halftime. Meanwhile, the SEC is what? I think it's 1-4 in bowl games now?

Alabama and the red headed stepchildren trying to ride their coattails.

I'm just giving the nut huggers a hard time.

But seriously, the bottom half of the SEC is trash. They're trash in the SEC and they'd be trash in most other major conferences. It's the fans of those schools that constantly put forth these "best top to bottom conference" arguments. No. The top is really strong with good depth in the middle. The bottom is trash, just like the other conferences. The SEC cellar dwellers would be cellar dwellers in other major conferences too. Their conference affiliation doesn't make them special.

Umm.. There is truth to this,  particularly SEC east has been disappointment for awhile.  I'm also SEC biased,  we still have the best overall record against opposing conference & most players in the NFL :p lol

BTW  tired of Bama dominating CF!

Damn, I wish that James Washington was declaring. I want this kid. 162 yards three minutes into the second half. Most yards CU has allowed to a single receiver all year and there's nearly a full half to play. He's outgaining CU's entire team.

I wonder if he and that QB might rethink their decision to return after this showing?

Unless they get nailed for NCAA violation I don't see that changing anytime soon. They're third stringers could probably beat 90% of teams in the country because even their third stringers were damn good recruits. They're entire roster is stacked deep with 4 and 5 star recruits.

Yes I know thats why College teams should be able to pay players, this would create even field for recruiting against big name schools.

I doubt it would. What would they be able to pay them? If not much and equal amounts, then it wouldn't have any impact on recruiting at all. If significant amounts, then your major programs could afford it but your bottom dwellers probably couldn't and that would put them at an even bigger disadvantage.

It is what it is. As long as Bama keeps putting a dozen guys into every draft, the top recruits will keep flocking there. Another thing that helps Bama with the top recruits is that Saban plays the guys who deserve to play. To hell with seniority or what you've done in the past. If that hot shot freshman is better, he's gonna play. All these 4 and 5 star recruits think they can go in and beat out anyone. Competition doesn't scare most of those kids.

Ole Miss is a good example, Bama will get their fair share but players that wants to start will have better opportunity at other school.

Cam Newton was supposed to go to MSSTATE but he went Auburn all cause of $$$?

You think being able to pay kids legitimately would stop the under the table payments and benefits? The top programs will always find a way to bend the rules when it comes to recruiting. It's just the way it works.

Automatic early playing time isn't always the best opportunity for a kid. Just look at Bama and their RB recruiting. RBs fall over themselves to go to Bama because they basically know they're gonna get to play for a coach that loves to run the ball and they're gonna get to run the ball behind a damn near NFL caliber OL against college defenses. Every Bama RB that gets significant carries ends up getting drafted.

If you pay kids legitmately (no cap ) then under the table payment becomes irrelevant as it becomes about matching the offer as was the case for Cam with State & Auburn. Playing time is important but whats is even more attractive is turning a program around and bringing notoriety to  school.

Ole Miss top recruitng class for couple of years  was all due to $$$.  It only takes couple of premium talent to turn a program into a contendor and all school have boosters willing to spend the green.

MSSTATE was couple of OL away from beating Bama & contending for national championship with Dak.
