Fournette in the first? What bothers me

That's why they pay scouts to evaluate these kids.  If he grades out as top 10 in this class then he's top 10 by their standards not ours.   Does Dave agree?  Who knows.

I try not to get caught up in the stats myself nor do I watch countless hours of tape or do background checks on these guys so I leave it to the professionals to decide.  As a fan I just cheer on whoever they pick.  I'm as giddy as a kid on Christmas Eve just thinking about getting some new blood on the team.

Man... you cheered a DT and back-to-back-to-back CBs?

Cus Im all for DGs street credit... but even I had to call that shyt questionable.

Oh I scratched my head on it when it happened.  But I can't hate on it until we see how these kids turn out.  It was ballsy for sure.

Can't compare Cam the way you do other QBs.  Just doesn't work. Sells him short by design of the comparison.

Cam's best running isn't found in the records people talk about (the historic ones you dismiss)..it is the crazy 3rd down pick ups and first down conversations. It is basically a variation of short pass game totally taken out of discussion because it has never existed in the NFL before.

Cam simply isn't comparable to date.   People want to use standard QB definition on him that favors the pack and discredits what no one else in history has done.

He definately is more football player than traditional QB....which is why the comparison is just pointless.

And people will continue to blitz us because they're not scared of Cam Newton. Until Cam's footwork improves and using his eyes, he's nothing more than a 250 lb rb.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
