Leonard Fournette

This is the guy.   I love Adams and have been leading his train.  But Fournette has overtaken in the 1a 1b

its a

1. Fournette- even if we have to trade a 3rd or at worst the 2nd.

2. Then Adams

6'0 240 4.5 and game film shows he runs all that and faster in pads.

Lets get a good look at him.

Cons:

Injuries-  he's had a couple of nagging injuries but that doesn't overly worry me.  He played in more games than Gurley and the Same as AP in college due to injuries.  This year was really his biggest year due to injuries.  But reading into it deep during the season it seemed he was being overly cautious which could have caused him to sit more.  People were calling for him to sit out this season before it even started to keep from risking injury.  Some felt he could've been the top RB or atleast in competition with Gurley after his Freshman year.  After last year everyone liked him better than Zeke.  Yes if you rewind the tape people loved Zeke but they drooled over LF.  With all this hype you know damn well he was going to be extra cautious.

pass catching- no he's not Cook or Mccaffrey.  He has shown that he Can catch the ball in the few times LSU throws the ball.  Just not near as those other guys.  Here's the thing.         We Don't Throw The Ball To Our RBs.  We are In the bottom if not Last in RBs targeted in the passing game.  We just don't use them like that.  So to knock him for this is dumb.

now to the positive thing.

Running, Hammer, Running.

Our game 100% revolves around the power run game.  Out of the shotgun, under center doesn't matter.  When Stewart has gone down or nicked up that's when we struggled the most no matter what condition the OL is in.  The crumble of Remmers started in the Super Bowl.  But if you look close enough.  Stewart got hurt and the offense went to poo.  Remmers looked good for a min in that game.  But once that run game went away, those rushers feasted and ate Remmers.  The Giants never had a stud OL and really our interior OLis better. But Brandon Jacobs and Co made it a nightmare.  You can't stop that train a running and it's a bigger nightmare for edge rushers than 2 probowlers out at OT.

Rivera has spoken as well letting it knows he wants Cam running the ball less keeping less hits off him.  A heavy Dosage of a Stewart/LF combo leaves nightmares to OC's.  Playaction....Playaction.  That's how Prescott has looked so good.  The Fear of having a running game like those Giant squad Gettleman/Rivera/Shula want to Emulate opening up the play action option for Cam (him running then, his cannon arm launching deep)

the fit for Fournette here is better than any play in this draft.  Sportcenter said it best yesterday.   "Teams in the NFL better hope the Panthers don't get Fournette". "Teams will be begging the league for bye weeks after playing the panthers,  after trying to tackle Stewart,Fournette, and Cam all game they will need Monday off min"

    • Well, the whole rationale used  for the high IQ point guard is it would allow us to spend our resources elsewhere….instead it’s all our first rounders ever since to support the bad pick.  Reality is our front office is just bad.  If you wanted Bryce Young you were going to need to do something unique and special for him.  Instead we just insert a QB with traditional tools into old NFL concepts that pair with traditional talent and our pass game is whack
    • Good to see some other folks are speaking the same language on this. It's simple common sense. But it seems like there's a disconnect due to the misplaced value the team has put on Thielen because he was the only vaguely good veteran WR willing to sign with the Panthers after we traded away DJ Moore. That time has come and gone. We have two first round WR's on the roster now.
    • Yeah I’m turning this into a Bryce can’t play QB thread. Just stating that offense was a poo show two years ago. No QB is succeeding in that, much less a rookie. I feel like it’s become a common debate strategy on here to just jump down the rabbit hole of saying he is just bad in so many ways when any certain point gets countered. If that doesn’t work we can deflect to how poorly this team has been ran. In regards to the actual point we are debating, the OL was struggling, half of the skill players aren’t on a roster, Mingo has done nothing with his new team and the staff are either not coaching or on their 3rd team in 3 years, aside from McCown (I liked McCown too). Honestly about as bad as it gets. No need to try to state how good of an offense it was billed it because that has been proven false at this point.
