acquiring Jarvis Landry:

"If you add up the numbers, Carolina simply can’t make the math work to bring in a marquee receiver like Landry. This is another area we expect Hurney to address in the draft as opposed to free agency or a trade."

I'd argue the statement in bold suggests they haven't been listening to Hurney's recent comments regarding weapons for Cam.  Won't be a top tier guy and may also address in draft but WR free agent is on high on the FA priority list.

I haven't heard Hurney explicitly say anything specific in regards to free agency (not saying that he hasn't). He has mentioned the need for another receiver or two,  as well as the need for more speed.  You know,  Norv says he likes what we have,  but I just hope that it's more rhetoric than a rubber stamp to rely on them as the vets.  Byrd is the elder at 25. Moreover,  wanting to make something happen in free agency, and making it happen are two totally different things. There are a lot of dynamics going on,  the least of which is a free agent's desire to come here.  I think that Cam is still a legitimate  sales point.
