It's O-line and not even close.

Our o-line is like a senior citizen in a hip hop class -- the only thing we can trust to not give out on us is our Right Guard. It's not that the group sucks (okay, some members do) it's just that there are injury issues and experience issues up and down the line with the exception of RG, which is arguably the easiest position of the group to play. Who do we grab? Tackle, Guard, Center? Whichever is the best guy out there looking for a job and sign him for depth.

A group like this can do well enough to win, if they work together and we avoid further injuries. Look at our two Superb Owl teams and the lines we fielded. We can do it, or better, with these guys and good coaching. The margin for error or accident is soooo incredibly thin right now. Our margin before William's injury was Moton and Larsen. Now, we're down to Larsen as coverage at guard and center.

This is real razor's edge functionality here. We've got a bunch of rookies and camp fodder who look the right size, some from big college football programs, but no standouts. Maybe Friend will surge and get some attention in the preseason. It's nothing to bet on and there's not a lot of experience in the backups. If a journeyman guard or tackle is wandering the streets after the first round of cuts, we need to grab them. Preferably one with a mean streak and something to prove who isn't named Incognito.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
