This is why matt moore should be the starter

Ok, you are truly excited about him beating a team who sat players, didn't need to win, and he threw one int, and should have threw one more for a fact, possibly two if the starters were in?

Oh man, he threw one int in three games. Jake usually throws 2 Ints before a single quarter is over!

Now..go watch Jake's last few game tapes.

Jake's just a nervous ninny in the pocket with his feet. He's not comfortable. He's lost confidence. He's not progressing through reads. He's turned into Rex Grossman and just letting that mofo fly. Then walk off with a "is what it is" shrug.

Actually he threw one against Dallas too while forcing it to smith. But he was able to bounce back. Unlike Jake he didn't go into panic mode and try to win the game after he threw the pick. He stayed patient and played 4 quarters.

I can understand if some of you just out right have a dislike for Matt Moore for other reasons, but to condemn a guy (who IS on your team) who no one knows for sure if he could do a good job or not without even giving him a chance is just ignorant. First of all, why would you want to hinder your team's chances of not only winning a game but possibly salvaging a season and maybe, just maybe finding a QB who can do a good job? Now I'm not saying he will or will not do well. The thing is, we haven't really given him a chance so who knows. Wouldn't you all feel a little better if we did know for sure? That way we can find a suitable QB by the process of elimination. The other QBs on our roster have all been given more than their fair chance and they couldn't cut it with their teams. Will they cut it with our teams? Probably not...but who knows?

what about the 2 games before that. He beat Seattle. He outplayed Hasselbeck. He stood tall against what was then the #1 pass rush in the nfl, leading the nfl in sacks. He played Dallas and made them sweat. We had a legit shot at beating Dallas. I don't know if you remember the OBVIOUS missed pass interference call. nfl.com videos even included it in the highlights. Matt Moore was poised to win all 3 games regardless of who 1 team was starting. Considering our defense didn't play well against Tampa either, he played well enough to win. And After his INT he was good enough to not make anymore mistakes.

When teams have no film on a player, especially a quarterback, it's hard to game plan for them. Did you see sundays game? Same problem we had.

We shut down Fitzpatrick and that dude has started several games in the league. Film will show tendencies, yes, but is that the reason they lost? Because they didn't have enough film on Matt Moore?

Some people are going to hate on any Panthers QB that is not named Jake.

He threw 3 Td's and 2 pick's, if you going to defend him, know some facts first! He was 15-41 on third downs, how good is that? The Seahawks had their worst offensive game of the season, Cowboys threw a pick in the end zone, and that would have put the game away, and Tampa rested their key players, yeah Matt Moore is a solid quarterback!

It would be cool if you would look at what Matt Moore is objectively. And that is, an awful QB who has sucked something awful the previous 2 preseasons. A guy who was awful against Dallas 2 years ago. A guy who was awful in all those games where he came in to replace somebody(22 QB rating in those games). A guy who was average at best with a pop warner playbook against 2 teams resting their starters. A guy that was so bad at Oregon State he nearly cost his coach his job. Etc.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
