Tough Game Panther Fans

I must say these NFC South games are killing me. Once again I have to give it up to the opposing team. Williams is nasty and does not get the recognition like AD but he is just as good. You guys pushed us just as hard as Atlanta last week and probably more because I knew Fox would be smart enough to keep running the ball. I just hope you don't do us like the Falcon, Giant and Jet fans and come up with a bunch of excuses as to why you all lost. This Saints team is for real and to be honest we are not even playing at the top of our game. Anyway good game and much respect.

Once again our weaknesses are exposed... coaching and QB play. As usual the opposing team was able to come out of the half-time locker room with a better plan than us for the remainder of the game. The Panthers completely out played NO in the first half, and then the Saints dominated in the second half...

This could have turned the Panthers season around, instead it's another disappointment. That's just IMO...

I can't lie your QB play and play calling leaves a lot to be desired but even with that you still almost won. So if I were you guys I would be looking for another QB but I would keep Fox and just hope he does what our coach did last year. Go out and get an offensive coordinator that is aggressive as he is on defense. But I would not give up on Fox that easy. Your team played hard till the end and that is what you want most of all out of any team.

No, as I said coaching AND QB play... a better QB would have given us a much better chance, but I think the root of our problem is coaching, including game planning and play calling. Fox's conservative style is the same now as it's always been, but I've always thought that when you play not to lose, you probably will. You can't sit back and hope that the defense is going to be able to stop an explosive team like NO, especially with and offense so prone to mistakes like our is.

Well from an outsiders opinion if your QB is the cause of you calling a game like that than you might as well sit him because you can't just keep running on third and long. It's not going to work the whole game although Williams is almost good enough to do that. At the end of the day you have to play a QB that can help you stretch the field especially with a weapon like S. Smith. He's to good to have a game like that. That pass he caught at the end of the game was sick. At the end of the day your Qb is off but your Coordinator leaves a lot to be desired. I don't care if you dink and dunk all game you have to throw the ball more than you all did today.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
