Moving on to New Orleans

Week 16 is in the books and its not one of our better weeks but we need to move on.

We play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and if we win, we lock up the 2nd seed in the NFC which means a 1st round bye and a home game for the divisional round.

Our defensive backs will be tested against Drew Brees because everyone and their grandmothers know that the Saints love to pass. The Saints rank 1st in points per game, 1st in pass yards, and 1st in total offensive yards. To build momentum leading into the playoffs, we need a confidence booster and that will be to shut down Drew Brees. Pierre Thomas has been coming along nicely for the Saints but he isn't Derrick Ward and Brandon Jacobs so our defensive game plan doesn't have to be focused on stopping the run. Our rushing attack needs to just show up and offensively we should have a nice day at the office. However, defensively, we have playing like complete poo as of late giving up 27½ points per game for the last 6 weeks. That stat is pathetic. On the contrary, the Saints have been scoring just under 33 points a game and a 4-2 record in the last 6 games. Their offense is hot and we need to prove to ourselves that we can stop a high powered offense to have any chance in the playoffs. If Brees even does remotely good, I'm going to punch Ken Lucas in his nose and make his eyes water a little bit.

Let's lock up the NFC South with our defense.
