Can't support Jake anymore and other thoughts

I think the title says it all. Yeah, the Arizona game made me smile. I was glad to see him have a good game.

But at what point do you step back and say, our QB is scoring more points for the opposing team than he is for us? At what point do you admit he has a large part in this - no, not sole responsibility for these past few offensive performances - and just accept that maybe it's time for a change?

I suspect the postgame conference will be, "We still have a chance. Lots of games left." It's just not going to happen here. 9-7, which is near impossible, still won't be enough for the playoffs.

The defense played their hearts out. They gave up yards, but only 10 points. They did EVERYTHING they could. Forced fumble. Great INT. Sacks when it mattered. It didn't matter - the offense struggled mightily. When teams stop our rushing attack, Jake tosses them touchdowns. It's time that Fox makes a change, and the logical place at this point in the season is the QB. That is not to say any QB on our roster is "The Answer." But at least we'll know if the QB question is one we need an answer to this offseason, because let's face it: Jake isn't it.

well put. The worst part is that we could easily have 3 more wins this season and still be in the hunt. Hell, we were still in the playoff hunt at HALFTIME, but Fox had to stick with Delhomme. And we no longer are in the hunt, but Fox will be in the hunt for a job shortly.

I'm beginning to agree with the conspiracy theorists taht think Fox is afraid to start another QB 'cause if he does well, Fox'll look bad for not starting that QB earlier.

Frustration. Love this team, can't handle seeing such strong defensive efforts go to waste. The stars on this team deserve better.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
