....Like I've been saying since PRE SEASON!! Ron Meeks needs to go.

Of course we run cover 2/Tampa 2 at times. Are you attempting to say that a defense that runs cover 2 cant play good against the run?

I'm saying that Meeks' defenses suck against the run. What, did he have one decent year statistically against it in Indy?

It was certainly never a priority in Indy, which is likely why they never did anything differently to focus on it. Its very unlikely to beat Indys offense without passing the ball.

OTOH I don't see any indication that meeks wont be able to have a better rushing defense here than he had in Indy.

Sorry, can't see blaming the defense for this one.

They're just as responsible as the offense.

Welker: 10 catches, 105 yards, 10.5 average, 23 (longest gain)

We either didn't roll coverage to him or had him picked up by a linebacker half the time.

The Patriots rushed for 185 yards and gashed us repeatedly. We couldn't stop them on the ground if we wanted to (I'm assuming we did, was hard to tell).

What I'm saying is that the Defense Meeks ran in Indy was poor against the run with a better D line than we have this year (or will have next year).

I don't think we improve in that regard anytime soon with Meeks' system in place. We'll continue to be good against the pass (against most teams, smart teams will kill our zone) and soft against the run.

This is all opinion, I don't like the style of D. Some people do and love what Meeks has done.

The Pats were only "held" to 20 points because they played horrible in the first half. It wasn't our defense either, they were dropping balls, playing sloppy, etc. The turnovers were great, but our "great" defense isn't the reason they only had 20.
