well crap shinner

yeah I'm pretty much screwed....and I'm not feeling good about the tix being in a decoration box since the china cabinet was on the other side of the living room and there weren't any decorations near it that needed taking down. We didn't move it until everything was down and put away. I just can't imagine how the tickets woulda jumped up outta the basket and all 4 of them landed in a box of decorations. They weren't in an envelope, just standing up in the basket. BUT...we're still gonna look, because you never know.

But hey, if we don't find em, I get to watch all of the Panthers game and the teenagers questioning how much of a fan I am, can zip it :)

Haha, this sucks. I'm kind of upset because I've got a date Sunday afternoon and it's during the Eagles-Giants game. Can't imagine how much this would blow -- esp. because lunch+coffee > hockey. Pulling sex out of the equation since you probably have the same chance as I do of getting laid afterwards.

Taking the missus to a hockey game, I'd have a good chance at getting some...even with staying at her parents house afterwards

OK - I've got a story abut lost things. When I was maybe 7 or 8, I spent the night at a friend's house. We were eating freeze pops. I put mine down and we never found it - tore the house up. When I was about 30, I saw my friend and she told me they found it in a game box that we had been playing. Her mom died and they were cleaning out the house. Opened the game, and there was an empty freeze pop plastic wrapper (it had evaporated of course).

Don't ask me why I decided to tell that story here? It's kind of funny. I hope it won't take that long to find your tickets.

Hehe.....I was in a hotel once for work. Got up real early in the morning to get ready. Shower, got dressed....couldn't find my keys. Turned the room upside down. Finally found them in the trashcan! Somehow I musta slid something on the desk or dresser and it pushed the keys over the edge into the trash. Glad I didn't say screw it and jus took a cab to work. They'd have emptied the trash and my keys woulda been gone :)

How bout this! I get home from physical therapy about 15 mins ago and make some coffee. While it's brewing, I'm still pissed about these tickets disappearing....so I look in the basket again even though I've been through it a couple times laying out every single sheet of paper that's in it and no tickets. I thumb about 3 things back and whadda ya know....4 hockey tickets!

Called my wife at work and asked her which one of our sons is the liar....she asks what I mean and I tell her the tickets magically reappeared. I thought for sure one of them gave her the tickets before she took them to school and she put them back in the basket. Wasn't the case though. One of them did it on their own. My bet is on the 17 year old who probably forgot about the game and planned poo with his gf for the weekend. Guess guilt must have gotten to whichever one took it. I was so pissed that I didn't speak a word to anyone while we ate dinner last night.

So....great to have the tickets back but not happy that one of my sons is a bold-faced liar. Both looked me right in the eye last night and said they had no idea where the tickets were when I asked them. This pisses me off more than anything...I can't fuging stand being lied to. The disappointment I now feel in my sons hurts a lot. That one of them would be so goddamned selfish that they'd hide the tickets in order to stay home...wtf kind of kids do I have?

I told my wife that whichever one of them did it should be left with a relative and we should take either her daughter or niece in their place.

Well, the truth has come out....after sitting them both on the couch for 3.5 hrs, the 11 year old finally confessed. I am absolutely gutted. I don't feel like going to the hockey game and I don't feel like watching the Panthers game. I just can't understand why he would do this.

    • The only thing I said was he was part of the staff that made part of the decisions, and that I am judging the decisions made by that group as a whole. As assistant GM, you can pretty much guarantee his input held more sway than an intern or the guy that takes coffee requests. Fitterer didn't operate in a vacuum. Neither does Morgan now. While Fitterer did have the ultimate decision, to say that Dan had no input in ranking boards, evaluating FAs, trade offers or anything else would be asinine. We all know he did. Otherwise what the hell was his job as assistant GM? He wouldn't have been kept for 3 years if he was arguing every decision Scott ever made.    And the actual quote was "Morgan has done a bang up job in the draft and FA. Compared to what the last guy did, he is kicking ass and taking names." So is XL kicking ass and Brooks taking names from last years draft or did I get it backwards? We took Wallace over Payton Wilson because he was an injury risk after trading up for a RB with a torn ACL? Which one of the kicking ass and taking names was that?  Maybe we should review the thousands of gameday posts calling for XL to get off the field because he's a bust and can't catch a cold. We could review the posts about Brooks but... And Wilson. He's at 118 tackles this season vs 36 for Wallace.  I gave credit to Dan for a good draft this year. But I'm also not ignoring last year's draft either since he did that one after the last guy too.  That's not a strawman.
    • And then, in week 18, we can take Mayfield out of the game and whoop Bridgewater's @$$ for good measure! Let the former QB revenge train roll on!!
    • If we keep our guards in tact ($$$) and go with Mays at C, some OT depth would be nice. I think we should be happy about CB with Thornton's development (pre injury) and Smith Wade. I think Ransom is developing nicely, but I would like to see a FS type for situations. We suck at ILB and Edge (as a whole). We should be OK at RB.  I hope we sign Dowdle to a short contract. QB?  There are signs of hope and development.  (I don't like our backup QB) TE?  Good draft for TE, but I think we are developing with Evans, Sanders, and Tremble. WR?  A #2 with Coker and Horn in the slot.  XL?  What is that? We should be good in 2026. Morgan does more than draft.  Free agency has been strong too.  (Just emptying my brain on your comment--sorry)
