The winning formula was staring us in the face

All day, the Panthers looked great in an under-center set, with a strong running game. This is also where Bryce Young looked the best - shockingly, when you set up the run, you can actually open up the downfield. This shouldn't be too surprising, given this sort of offensive setup worked well for Steve Wilkes last year.

Instead, throughout the game, at pivotal moments, we went to the pistol. It didn't work, and in most cases it was actually disastrous. This is most obvious in the idiotic decision to convert a 3rd and 1 out of a run in the pistol. Stuff like this has characterized the entire season, and I don't think it helps anyone.

If the staff, and/or David Tepper, can just get off their high horse and get back to the power run system, we might get a win or two the rest of the season. It might not be "sexy" to run Chubba Hubbard up the middle, and it might look too much like Jerry Richardson football (something Tepper clearly just does not like) but it was absolutely winning us the game for a bit. Maybe even build on this next year instead of trying to rework this scheme into something the players clearly aren't fit for and that frankly wasn't resulting in wins.

There's no need to get fancy - just like up under center and run the ball.

Everyone in the universe knows what this offense is when in pistol…I mean everyone

add to it a qb that can’t sneak for a yard

plus receiver with little separation

and here we are

to not be able to get 3’ …twice is pretty damned pathetic.  Whatever happened  to bringing in Dalton on those…guess they don’t want to emphasize Young’s shortcomings

    • As one of the biggest Miller over Scoot stans at that time, this is clearly different because everything is all about me and what I want. But in all seriousness, I think most of the argument against Miller at that time was about off the court stuff but on the court he was clearly the better player. So if I had to compare, I would say this feels more like if we had drafted not Scoot instead of Miller, but a player ranked more around 6th on big boards instead of either. Bailey was pretty much universally a top 3 player in this draft and Knueppel was not.
    • lol well that kinda ended up working out in the end, even though I still don't have my jersey yet. Was supposed to ship by tomorrow this time, but just got another email saying it was delayed another 3 weeks and because it's been delayed so long, I had to tell them to keep the order or cancel it, but gave me a 25% off my next order as an apology. Well, my original fear came true and they are now selling the FUSE version (but still not the Blue unfortunately) before the one I ordered was ever shipped. But that's awesome, because I was able to use that coupon to order the FUSE instead and then cancelled the original order.  So I got the jersey I wanted for only $6.30 more than the crappier version costs, and it also says it will be shipped immediately and get here early next week, or 2 weeks before the other was now supposed to be shipped out.
