Im not taking any of it personal. I could really careless. Just pointing out how much of a hypocrite King T is. You can't have a Bobcats thread without him calling everyone racist hornet lovers. He only sees one way and that's his. I like to read about the Bobcats and hear people's ideas on things. Who we should trade, what logo we should use, should we change the name, etc... Just gets old when every time someone has a issue with something you and him say they are racist. I'll just have to learn to ignore better.

Charlotte does have alot of racist Hornet lovers. You must not be familiar with our local newspaper the Charlotte Observer.

I remember last year when G-Force was asked about the effect the Jumper Classic had on the team, he said it made the playoff hunt tough. Everyone jumped down Bob's throat including yourself and used it as a point that he was a sh*tty owner and that he was holding us back. Everyone patted G-Force on the head and said, see we told you! You then tried to make a case for Shinn to come back to Charlotte and how even though he moved his team from here and he makes money in a different market, he cares about us and would be a good fit back here. You are a Shinn apologist paranoid about Bob being remembered more favorably than him.

For the past 2 years J Pep has been hinting that he cant achieve his goals here and that this isnt the best situation for him. He refused to sign a long term contract and has not been happy. He is arguably the most celebrated player in franchise history and has more accolades than anybody who's ever played for us, yet no one uses his comments to go at JR. In fact, they do the opposite and label J Pep a malcontent, money hungry, and a "tin man" while JR's infalliable image of being a "great owner" remains intact.

Like dude said in that article I posted, the Bobcats and their ownership group are a sociological experiment in this market.

KT doesn't seem to understand what makes a good owner. As a measure of performance, what do we have? You seem to bring up completely irrelevant points to support his reign, and completely ignore the elephant in the room when talking about him.

Was he the worst owner in the history of pro sports? Look, absolutely not. Nobody is saying that, and to say that would be pretty short sighted. There are/have been some really bad ones. But did he do anything good for the franchise?

Not really. The best thing to happen to this franchise was landing Larry Brown. That happened because Jordan was here, and I guess through some loose logic you could claim that Bob Johnson landed Larry Brown and is a good owner.

But he's not. The Bobcats, in their first few years alienated your casual sporting event attendee. It was a terrible experience with ticket prices being too high to go see a team that was terrible, entertainment was terrible, etc.

Nothing good about going to Bobcats games until like this season. Now, obviously the arena atmosphere has changed over time, and for the better. The entertainment is better, and more importantly, the product on the floor is actually watchable most of the time.

People didn't start going to the games until Bob Johnson decided he wanted to sell the team.

And about MJ.. you talk as if it's completely okay for him to be an absentee owner and not give a flying fugg. Well, guess what. It's not.

If this town is too small for MJ, then he shouldn't buy the team here. PERIOD. I don't care. There's no excuse for it. Do I expect him to personally attend all 82 games, and personally greet me at the door every time. No. But I expect him to put forth an image that says "I GIVE A DAMN".. maybe then the rest of Charlotte will too.

Thats your opinion. I paid 200 bucks for my season tickets in 2006, 4 years ago. Thats too expensive? People regularly buy tickets on the street to Bobcats game for 5 bucks? Thats too expensive? The most entertaining Bobcats game I ever went to was our triple OT game against the Lakers 4 years ago, before Larry Brown came to town. So just because you hopped on the wagon recently because Larry Brown is our coach, doesnt mean all the die hard fans who've been around from day 1 did too.

People didn't start going to the games until Bob Johnson decided he wanted to sell the team.

Even though this isnt true, you feel thats the sign of a quality dedicated fanbase? That shifts and alters itself depending who writes the checks for the basketball players?

Mike has 30 million invested into the Bobcats. How much money have you put up? Now tell me, who gives a damn and who doesnt. If Mike or Bob were 2 rich white businessmen from NC or SC, these concerns would not come up. That is the real elephant in the room.

Rep!

Also, they need to keep the Bobcat name. Most of the names ya'll are suggesting are corny as fug, lol. Maybe, MAYBE, they could change up the logo a bit, and add a third uniform.

This is why i don't get you. You make stuff up to make a point. Point out where i jumped down his throat about a jumper classic. Where did i say Shinn should come back? I don't want Shinn back. I don't hate him like you do but i don't want him back. The only thing i have ever really defended was the Zo situation because people think Zo wanted to be here and Shinn wouldn't pay which is not true. I actually think we would have a better chance at a title with Bob than Shinn. Bob has opened his check book every time even if it was a dumb move. That's where i think Shinn was better (besides LJ before you two jump down my throat) When the Hornets let players go they were never really as good as they were when they were hornets. Divacs is the only player i can think of that was still good afterwards. I've only cared about who the owner was once and that was last week when i wanted to know if Jordan would get it or the Houston guy. I don't ever defend JR so quit bringing that up to me. I honestly think you have me confused with someone else or you are just lumping me in with a group of people.

Dude, stop taking generalizations so personally. If they don't apply to you, then they don't apply to you. Be secure in that knowledge.

Nowhere did T implicate you as an individual in this.

Zo knew he was a better player than LJ and deserved more money. He also couldn't stand Shinn because he was a meddling douchebag rapist. Glenn Rice did pretty well after he left, and so did Eddie Jones. Trading LJ was the only good decision Shinn ever made.

He let Matt Geiger and Vlade walk so Derrick Coleman could come in even though Dave Cowens DID NOT WANT HIM.

The Hornets had their most successful coach ever walk out the door because of Shinn. He brought on Ray Woolridge as a partner instead of Jordan because Jordan would have stolen the spotlight. And Woolridge is arguably the biggest douchebag every associated with Charlotte professional sports.

I have to wonder why you take it so personal when its brought up that the area has a lot of people in it that are uncomfortable with the Bobcats because of race.

In fact, I don't think I've ever seen T pick one of your posts out the way you do his. Stop baaaaaawwwwwwing like a baby everytime someone points out that a white owner would be treated much differently. Because its true.

So seriously, you want to bring up attendance numbers or something? Because you and I both know they have been terrible until recently.

I'd say that reflects something. I don't run around going "THE HURRICANES ARE HUGE DUDE" just because I love them. I know 99% of people in Charlotte don't give a poo or don't know who they are. You need to be able to differentiate that you != everyone.

I know there are people who have been in love with this team from day 1. You are one of them. There have been, however, many more who don't give a poo for several reasons. Most of it stems from poor management.

Everyone knows sports teams are expensive. I don't care. If you can buy a sports team, ok, that costs a lot of money. I guess I'm obligated to care now. False. This is so silly I don't even know where to begin.

I guess you're getting to the point that for MJ, it was a bigger piece of his pocket than your average multibillionaire. This is true, but it's irrelevant. What is relevant, is if Jordan will actually be committed to making this work.

Bob Johnson wasn't. This isn't exactly difficult stuff, people.

    • I have not read the entire thread, and I realize this is fluff to a degree, but it was recorded in real time.  Here are 10 things that stood out to me: 1. Morgan wrote down (before day 3) the first three day 3 picks.  (Lee, Hecht, and Wheatley).  I was never fond of the Morgan hiring as GM.  I thought he was a lazy selection and I questioned his ability to match wits with some of the best GMs in the NFL.  Not any more. Morgan OWNED this draft.  He knew which players were good fits and when they would be bargains, and he got bargains.  I am thoroughly excited about every player. 2. Canales said (about Hecht, a 5th rounder):  "He has a real chance to start."   Morgan said the same thing about Freeling. While I do not expect either to start day 1, it looks to me like we drafted 40% of our starting OL in 2026.  I think we will sign Ickey to a deal and play him at RG, allowing us to escape the Robert Hunt contract in 2027.  Of course that is conditional, and Ickey could replace Moton instead, but if he fully recovers, we are looking at a better RG/RT than he was a LT--which was average.  3. When Morgan said to second-round DT Hunter, "Ready to play beside Derrick Brown?"  Based on personalities, one calm and soft spoken (for the Most part, Brown is) and the other talkative and openly enthusiastic, it reminded me of Brentson Buckner and Kris Jenkins.   4.  Perhaps the steal of the draft was Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell II.  Clearly the Panthers felt that they passed on him when they took Hunter in round 2.  They mentioned his skill set (able to attack on "all three levels.")  This sent me back to watching film. He has speed, hands, and he produced without a great QB. I think he could be great in the NFL.  When  5. Tepper was a bit more involved than I would like, but he seems to be very confident in Morgan.  If I were the owner, I would be doing the same thing.  Canales was also somewhat of a background character--everyone understood his role and stayed in his lane.   6.  I am also very interested in the quantitative analytics aspect of the draft room.  (something like, "He has a 94% chance of being there at pick 55, and a 38% chance of being there at 87). I would like to know their formula, because it seemed to be spot on. 7.  BPA?  Not really.  They had a shopping list and seemed to be targeting the players they selected. I realize other players were edited out, but I was impressed how they knew, by round, who they wanted and if there were multiple options sitting there, they traded back. 8.  Evero (I think) called Lee a candidate that would serve as the "#3 CB."  Morgan describes his size as a plus (Long). Strong praise for a 4th rounder.  If so, we have Thornton coming off injury who played well as an UDFA rookie and they will battle it out to become Jackson's replacement after the 2026 season, assuming the Panthers do not extend him (he turns 30 in 7 months.O 9.  I think we could realistically see every one of these draft picks play this season, and I believe most could start by next year--Realistically, Freeling, Hunter, Hecht, and Brazzell could all be starting or key rotational pieces this year.  I see Lee and Wheatley getting special teams reps and both could be used this season more than expected.   10.  Kuwatch seemed to be predetermined with the final pick, probably because he can add something special to special teams.   He and Bam Martin Scott will fight it out for the 4th ILB position, so it will probably come down to special teams--and Kuwatch stands out there.  Imagine an ILB with a 46.5 vertical (not a typo) on the FG block team.  Kuwatch has an 8.85 RAS score vs. Martin-Scott's 7.5.
    • They did mention Bain as the pick if he fell but didnt seem confident that would be the case.
    • Exactly what I am thinking.
