A franchise QB, yes, but I personally am unsure if Bradford is that. This years' QB class is weak and when the Rams are a few years away from being in contention, I'd rather take Suh. Suh has hype, but he also backs it up like a Warren Sapp versus a Vernon Gholston. Suh will demand double teams and he will be one of the top DL in the league in 2-3 years. Bradford is coming off a shoulder surgery with 2 tears in his throwing shoulder.... pretty big gamble with a #1 overall pick. Throw in the fact that you could get Jason Campbell for a 4th rounder, and then select Colt McCoy or The Golden Calf of Bristol with a 2nd rounder. I'd prefer a team (that is a lock for the top 5 next year) having the combo of Suh and either McCoy/The Golden Calf of Bristol/Campbell moving forward. At worst, the QB selections bridge the gap until they can get a better QB prospect. Suh is the top player available in this draft, IMO.

exactly, pretty much no draft experts had bradford anywhere near the top 5 UNTIL he gained some weight. big freaking deal. you all saw what suh did to that dummy, is ten pounds going to make a difference from a hit like that? might make a SLIGHT difference to the pounding on the body, but the head will get smacked around just as hard. they have donnie avery as a receiver, he's a future pro bowler, wait and see.

in addition, look at every team with an elite quarterback. they all have top tier offensive lines (packers being the exception, but thats cause rodgers is the best qb of all time).

one last note, bradford could be jemarcus russel. it's doubtful, but we all thought it was doubtful jemarcus would be THIS bad, so it's possible.

The lions were interested in D-will, if the FO wanted to go that route and let jstew be top cat then we could trade dwill for their first and we could get suh. But id prefer to keep dwill

Under no circumstances were the Lions going to give up that pick for D Will.

Maybe a 2nd rounder, but certainly not their first, that is just crazy talk.

And the other thing....who in the hell would keep a running back that finished the year on IR heading into the end of his contract...over the best D line prospect to come out in ten years????:eek:

Well St. Louis is probably going to pass up on the top D line prospect in the past decade for a "franchise" QB. Dwill is worth that pick, he's proven his talent and the caliber in which he can play at. He missed 3 games yea let's all get together and say that ruined his career. HA...that's funny. What if they take McCoy instead then what we'd be stuck facing Suh twice a year, hopefully Kalil and our guards can contain him.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
