Young Panthers are Fox's Kind of Team

I'll give you that, but fox also got us a monsterous defense too. man, i thought we had the best defense in the NFL between 2003 to 2005. plus, once we got them into the playoffs, fox kept them rallied and we won games. if it werent for jake against arizona, i think we could have won in the 08 post season too.

fox has had up and down seasons, but most of the time we dont make the playoffs is because of injuries, or bad years from jake, and we still usually overcame to finish at least .500.

The reality is that we were not even the best defense in the division, during that period. That goes to Tampa hands down.

Defensive ranking-

Panthers-2003- 8th, Tampa 2003- 5th

Panthers 2004- 20th, Tampa 2004- 5th

Panthers 2005- 3rd, Tampa 2005- 1st

The problem has been that we have never had a top 10 offense under Fox until 2008. And that has been for a number of reasons not always Jake. Even when he was a pro-bowler in 2005 (2004 season) we went 7-9 and were ranked 13th. In 2005 when Smitty won the triple crown our offense was ranked 22nd. In 2008 Jake was decent but not great and we finally make it in the top 10.
