More afraid by the day

actually 2-3 of the guys on NFLN are picking the cards...which makes me nervous. They're all saying the Cards were up on us last time, the now have a "running" game and they'll buck the east coast trend. Me no likey....

I can't believe how many of the talking heads are using that last match up as a basis for their picks. This game will be nothing like the last meeting between these two teams.

This is a home play off game, for crying out loud. The energy level will be about 5 times higher than the last time, and that includes the crowd as well as the team. There is no way in hell the Panthers are coming out flat this time around.

They have NO running game....Edge managed 75 yds against the 28th rated run defense of the Falcons.

They were up because of a blocked punt and a fumble on the 5 yd line...in the first few min of the game. After that, we rolled them.

This one won't even be close.

C'mon man you have been one of my favorite posters here but that isn't anywhere near true. 3 plays kept you guys from losing that one and they were:

1) The terribly pathetic tackling non-effort on Smith by Rolle on the long TD. I wont mention the call because I will be honest and say that I think it was out but the refs really didn't have any choice because non of the camera angles could give you an undisputable view.

2) Our punter fumbling the XP. We marched down the field on you guys all day and had we only needed a FG at the end Warner wouldn't have been forcing passes. The punter has since been replaced BTW.

3) The bad play design on the faked FG. The coaches really whiffed there. Either kick the FG or design a fake that doesn't feature a guy with an arm like a twelve year old girl throwing to someone who is slower than my dead grandmother. Your LB did do a good job sniffing it out though.

You Panthers fans can talk all day about how we lucked out when you fumbled in your own territory, but what about when Edge fumbled on our 15??? Oh that doesn't count because it's detrimental to your arguement? Or how about the TD you guys scored on the next play where Smith had a blatent pass interference that wasn't called?

Also, the punt didn't block itself man. Give the redbirds a little credit will ya? You guys are great team and even greater at home and we played you pretty tough IMO.

We always come through in the Playoffs. Only egg we laid was in Seattle.....when we were down to a Practice Squad Player as our only RB.

Don't Worry......Be Happy.

Again, where is the sense here? I am really not trying to start and arguement, but if you guys always come through in the playoffs, then why haven't you got any rings?

The last time Fitz carved us up like a turkey. Our pass defense is supposedly better than our run defense but I'm more afraid of teams that will pass on us. From the games I've watched, it's where we look the weakest. We barely beat the Cards the first time, this time the time change will probably benefit them as by the 4th quarter our players will be ready for bed and they're bodies are ready for prime time. The Cards have some momentum, beating a team they weren't expected to beat and gaining their first playoff victory in forever. Their starting QB is a 2 time MVP with a Super Bowl ring. No one believes in them, everyone believes in us. That counts for so much, especially when the team no one believes in is a actually pretty good.

I'm not saying they WILL be but if the time is advantageous for anyone it's advantageous for Arizona. Arizona played at 1pm in Carolina last time, time was a factor for that game, we will not have that advantage this go around.

    • Yeah the only way current set up is fun is if every year a different tiny school builds a super team and makes a run. You just need 1 rich guy to say you know what would be funny, if I drop 30 million and my school has a shot at a national championship.   They won't ever do it but put some sort of tiered salary cap in place and sign them to 4 year deals. You can only transfer up or down tiers no lateral moves because mean ole coach at texas doesn't play me enough so I'm going to Tennessee. So a player at prairie view can transfer to texas and get paid more or a player from UNC can transfer to UNCG because he isn't getting playing time. If a guy is transferring "up" he can get a salary bump if the team has salary cap space. A guy transferring down has to stay at the same salary as he signed his 4 year deal for so the lower tier team would have to have the cap space to sign him. It would stop the money chasing for lateral moves but allow guys who improve massively at lower schools to make more money as juniors and seniors and hopefully keep more guys in one place because the contract is for 4 years.
    • Bryce youngs first starts for 3 years   51 of 103 49%     153 yards avg 6 ints 2 tds   But this is the year he turns it around
    • His third year was worse than Bryce's third year, significantly so.  And he had a game where he threw for 120 yards, two inteceptions, and had a fumble.  He had multiple games where he threw for more int's than td's.
