Bears Fan with Questions about Peppers

You'll get to see Brett Favre go on IR and retire because of him though, so that's gotta be worth every penny as a Bears fan. :D

It would make me so happy if the Bears were the team that ended his consecutive start record.

I hope that the Packers rookie Baluga doesnt turn into a good LT against Peppers. I don't really think he will because his arms are so short.

other than that the NFC N has some pretty weak LT's, last season I would have said that Minny's Mckinnie was the best in the division but Peppers made him his B!#$H when he was his the Panthers

Peppers disappears in big games and against good teams....he'll usually have a field day against really bad teams or meaningless games.

I miss the old Peppers (see 04 Peppers against the falcons)....the Peppers as of late just wasn't the same guy.

He should have a real good year..just to prove the nay sayers wrong.

Hey guys, I promise this isn't a troll thread.

I have questions about Peppers and his "work ethic." Around the league he has the reputation of "taking plays off." Can any of you elaborate?

Because so far at Bears OTA's & Minicamp Peppers has been spectacular... Even unbiased journalists have said so. And you would think that if a player took plays off in games, then he would also do it in practice.

Good Luck.

honestly its hard for a DE to push it every play when he doesnt even feel the team is doing it with him. whether or not thats true is a different story all together

but i definitely think people were hard on pep. especially the last couple years when the going was rough for all, some people just dont have the heart, but they do have other things. all in all i dont blame anyone but him, but i still wish it had gone differently....

    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
