Car Selling Question

When I sold my car I had the buyer wire the difference to bank and they sent him the title. I got a money order for the diff.

That works if your bank is local to you. You can even go down to the bank and give them the check, but you still have to wait on everything to clear. It's better if they give you a bank check, clears very fast, if not instantly. Then you can turn the vehicle over to them. They have the risk then, waiting on the title.

Since you dealing with an out of town finance company, it would be better to pay it off and get a free and clear title to it, then sell it.
