How long does Beer stay fresh?

First off, I rarely drink any alcohol. I gave up drinking alcohol in 1994 at the requestof my girlfriend. NOT because I had to, but because she was a health nut. (She ran marathons, including the NY Marathon. ) Her idea of a "Fun Run" was to go out and do a quick 13 miles. My idea of a "Fun Run" was to run to the bathroom during half time of a COLTS game! Though, that's not the reason it didn't last.

I always keep beer and wine in the fridge for friends who stop buy. I have had this 3 out 4 pack of aluminum bottled Mich Ultra in my fridge for a while. I looked at the "Born On" date and it was Aug 2008! I figured it had to be pretty skunky by now!

So, I poured it out. During the last bottle, I decided to take a swig of beer, expecting it to taste pretty nasty! I was surprised that it tasted extremely smooth! In fact, I quickly finished off the bottle! (I didn't say I don't know how to drink.)

How long does beer stay fresh? (I know some of you are going to say, as long as it takes to get from the grocery store cooler to your lips!)

I work for miller and bud products like mich ultra are the same. From born on date they have 9 months "shelf life" (just to ensure customers get fresh product). In reality approx 26-30 months from born on till you might be able to tell any difference in taste.

    • Some national praise for Stankonia this fine morning... NHL playoff breakouts: 6 players opening eyes with their postseason performance Stankoven had an absolutely dominant Game 1 against Ottawa. At five-on-five, the team went up 19-5 in shot attempts, 2-0 in scoring, and earned a 93 percent xG rate in his minutes. Stankoven’s seven shot attempts and overall efforts helped contribute to 2.17 of the Canes’ 3.16 expected goals at five-on-five. ... After earning two primary points on the Canes’ goals on Saturday, he saved a goal in Game 2 that almost slipped over the line (and likely would have changed the tone of the game early), and added another of his own. 15 early takes from Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs 5. Stankoven’s a dawg The Hurricanes have a lot of dawgs — Martinook is one too — but Logan Stankoven deserves the title in his own way. Three goals through two games, not afraid of the moment, and his line with Taylor Hall and Jackson Blake is relentless. They’ve got an expected goal rate around 75 per cent at 5-on-5 so far. ***Bonus Round*** 4. Tkachuk has to settle into the moment Last Ottawa thought is that they’ve got lots of guys going. Tim Stutzle is all over it, Drake Batherson, Ridly Greig, these guys should’ve scored more than they have, but it’s like there’s a forcefield at the net. However, Brady Tkachuk hasn’t been on the ice for a goal for yet, and to me, it’s because he’s just so damn over-eager. He looks like he’s in a fist-fight with the puck out there and it’s blowing up on his stick way too often. He needs the opposite of smelling salts pre-game. He needs a chai tea and a fiction novel in the dressing room. He’s one of the rare guys you’d like to see calm down, rather than rev up.
