Won't be watching this show for the same reason I gave up on Lost halfway through season 1: you can't center your show around a single secret/reveal and expect your audience to keep paying attention. It doesn't work for an episodic show and you have to keep introducing smaller reveals. Quickly the show becomes a mishmash of almost random events happening to attractive people, then the show just starts to make less and less sense as the writers lose track of what-the-hell they were heading towards in the first place.

Sure you can. And they did.

From season 1 to season 6, Lost's viewership dropped by about 35%. That's a pretty large drop for a show that was supposed to keep people on edge and in the seats. By season 5, most of you were probably only watching because you had invested so much time into it already.

I'm just an ass though. I never liked Lost or any of JJ's work really.

I do agree with you. For a show to go 6 seasons, you are always going to have significant drop-off in viewership though. I watched because I think it was an innovative and interesting show.

But I do agree a lot of people won't watch shows like that. They like to be able to tune in every now and then if they feel like it. And if they miss a show, it shouldn't have too much impact on whenever they choose to watch next.
