Carson Palmer is done

I think he could get another shot with a different team in the future, but his best days appear to be over. I just watched him in the pocket with ALL DAY to the throw the ball, not one person in his face, and he lobs it right into triple coverage in the endzone. I mean hes shown flashes in the past, but to me, he was never great, he just hasn't been the same since the injury...

There was a time, a la 2005-2006, where Carson Palmer was an easy top 5 QB in the league, then along came von Oelhoffen. The thing is that it was a knee and not his head...his decision making is terrible now and he shows little signs of getting better.

He was amazing pre-injury.

The knee injury almost certainly messed with his mechanics - he doesn't throw the ball nearly as hard as he used to. Perhaps it's nowhere near what it used to be, or perhaps it's all mental and he just doesn't trust it.

Yep, cos he's a white devil.

Hey, its hurt his development. If he had that kinda pressure to deal with he'd be alot tougher and a much better QB. Nobody ever took the training wheels off Carson. As is, even surrounded with talent he has he cant manage to win. The guy is one of the top 2 highest paid QBs in the league.

He got paid based off of 2005 numbers and now he plays scared and has lost that killer instinct. The Bengels are full of guys that were legitimate playmakers...now they have a broken Qb throwing to an aged wide out that drops it more than anyone in the league.

I do love Shipley though, and Benson and Gresham aren't anything to sniff at either.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
