depending on the coaching staff, we should probably move, cut, trade some guys that happen not to fit our scheme.

if we run the 4-3 again, then folks like E Brown and Norwood should go to another team. Norwood might stick due to special teams utilization, but no use paying Brown.

I would say trade him to the Ravens who seemingly wasted a pick on Sergio Kindle. Bad neck and now bad character issues.

the other third comes from Peppers compensatory pick

think we could get a 3rd for him so he could play OLB in a 3-4 which is where he is better suited?

If so, that would give us 3 third rounders this year.

the one i hate the most but the one that makes the most sense is trading D Williams to Green Bay for a third also, giving us 4 third rounders.

This would certainly help solidify some areas and also give us ammo to move up into the second if need be

We paid too much for Brown to trade him and Norwood will need time to bulk up.

Norwood would probably be better in a 3-4 but he needs time to adjust. I think they were planing to use him like a 3-4 backer anyway when we go to over/under schemes.

We just need some freaking defensive tackles so the QB can't step up in the pocket.

Sticking with mistakes is part of the problem.

I agree we paid too much for Brown, especially if he never sees the field.

just thought it better to turn a 2nd round mistake that never gets on the field into a third rounder who might have a chance.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
